Docking Station Question

I've got a HP laptop I use for work and am interested in purchasing a docking station for home set up. Should I stick with HP manufactured docking stations when shopping for one, or do other companies make docking stations that may fit my particular laptop configuration.

TIA!

On HP makes the docks for your laptop.

You can by some 3rd party "docks", but they are really port replicators that plug in via USB>

HP makes both port reps and full docks for their business systems. If you have a consumer HP Laptop, then HP probably doesn't make a rep or dock for it. Same for any laptop Manufacturer. POrt rep will give you port duplication, maybe DVI, and additional USB. Dock usually adds, PCI or PCIe slot, powersupply for dock, and maybe additional PCMCIA.
