Why don't we illegalize them all then. Thousands die every year from drunk driving because idiots can't decide when to stop. Thats a stupid rebuttal.
I could live with that. How about the rest of you?
No thanks, little thing called 'freedom' that I find too important.

Besides that, if you think making alcohol illegal will eliminate drunk driving deaths, you don't know much about the way the world works.

Heh, for real. That's like thinking that because someone is convicted of a DUI and loses their license, that they won't be getting behind the wheel while licenseless... or while drunk and licenseless for that matter.

then they should do an "xprize" for a mj breathalizer. Just make a contest. The first scientist to develop a breathlizer for pot wins a prize, as well as the rights to sell it to the police. Upon further testing, mj would be made legal because cops could test for it...... lol

And the last thing we need to do is legalize something else that negatively affects the body just because X and Y are already legal...
Why not? It makes perfect sense. If the cigarettes and alcohol are legal it utterly defies logic that marijuana is not legal. There are plenty of other things that negatively affect the body that are also legal why single out marijuana?

Why don't we illegalize them all then.

Do the words "Prohibition" and "abysmal failure" ring a bell?

I was being facetious.

Gee wiz.

Using drugs to overcome life's stress instead of dealing with it like everyone else.

How American.

the way you put it makes you sound ignorant. What I went through wasn't "life's stresses" it was more like a severe act of corporate fraud followed by a death threat from a pyscho cop, to say the least. Smoking a lil pot to relieve some stress doesn't make me less of a person, in fact, i'd rather smoke pot and be relieved, than make poor judgement because I am all stressed out.

So like I said, you dope yourself up just to escape what life throws at you.

And how!

Thats the problem, they should take their car and sell it, having the profits donated or used to lower taxes. Again, I was being facetious when I said illegalize them all, although I could live without any of them.

For every one idiot that can't stop, a hundred or a thousand people drink responsibly and enjoy it. It's a freedom.

On top of it being utterly and completely wrong IMO (I highly value freedom), it's been tried and didn't even come close to working. Even if you want a governmental clamp on freedom, you have to admit that learning from one's mistakes is a good thing. .
I'm with you on this one, I just wanted to know if people could give it all up or not.

I like to do non-drug related activities to deal with issues that come up. Clean your house, play a sport. It's so much better than doing something illegal and very non-productive

What's this have to do with my shrinking right to do whatever I want with my body in the privacy of my home?

Uh, I guess...when you're stoned, you don't generally do something that productive

MAME has a point. I do so much PT (three times a week) that I guess it explains why things don't always get me down. Don't get wrong though, sometimes life can give more than you would like to deal with at one particular time.

Generally.. no.

But let's not generalize.

true, but at a certain level stress can be almost unbearable. It's nice to be out all night playing roller hockey, come home to a clean house (and a clean girl) and then have a smoke break.

Also, I find it easier to focus when I'm moderately high (not stoned out of my mind)

thats because you are trying to relax. I'm not generally productive when relaxing. I'm not generally productive when in a hot tub either (maybe reproductive.....)

Yeah, I mean...the fact is that it's really not that bad, and pretty much everyone knows that. But it seems so much better to do something worthwhile or entertaining while not stoned. People can do non-drug related activities for fun or for benifit.

Take care of your body now, enjoy your life when you're older.

I agree with you there but if you're stoned, you can probably kiss the rest of the night away. If you take a bath, you waste maybe an hour.

BTW, maybe it took you so long to get it because you're a DRUGGIE!!!!!!!!! 😉

That means exactly jack & sh*t. It's also against the law to spit against the wind on certain days of the week in certain locales, against the law to screw without being married, in any position other than missionary, ITB, or ITM for that matter, depending on where in the south you are. It's illegal to do 56 miles per hour on many highways and 31 mph on many side roads. It's... nah, I'll stop there. What is your point?

Not true.

In the 60s marijuana had just caught on as a "mainstream" illegal drug, and has stayed that way since. Over those years you've had growers constantly breeding pot plants to increase their THC saturation. 40 years of genetic manipulation has made pot more potent than it has ever been.

THC and other canabinoids are in no way toxic. There are only three carcinogens in smoked marijuana (don't know their names), and they only appear at combustion. So, if you eat brownies or use a nice vaporizer it is absolutely, 100% safe. High THC content is actually less toxic in smoked marijuana because it allows you to get higher while smoking less, and therefore ingesting fewer carcinogens.

Hehe

Really just saying this based on principle though; I haven't smoked pot in probably five years or so. My debauchery is now limited to getting moderately drunk maybe once a month (at home) and a taste for coffee.

I have no desire to do those things either..? And it is against the law.
