You need the full version of Adobe Acrobat - not just the free "reader" that is used for viewing.

It's easy to do. And it needs to be full version acrobat, not acrobat reader. On install, adobe places a toolbar in word, and an option under the file menu to send to PDF. Easy. Version does not need to be acrobat 5.0 to do it, I have both 4.05 and 5.0, both work great. I'm sure 3.0 would as well.

well, here is the sweet part dam. When you install Adobe Acrobat, in Word you get a nice little button (in your toolbar) that has the pdf icon. (Screenshot) Notice the two icons. First one is to simply convert to a pdf, does it all for you, the other will convert and send as an e-mail, its very simple! hope i helped

but how do I make screenshots? Someone told me to use the print screen function, but I couldn't get that to work.

Help for the stupid?

lol., im gonna be honest here, it is moronic :D, all you do is hit that print screen button and go into any image progam you have, mainly everyone uses PAINT, i use Photoshop. Once there, just do a Paste and you'll get it in =)

to make a screeshot of the active window only, use alt-printscreen. for the whole desktop, just use printscreen.
open MS paint edit/paste & save as bmp or jpeg(smaller size file)! :)

<< I usually paste my into word. You can also try alt + prtscn. >>

whats the difference between that and just the regular print screeen button. same thing, except you have to hold ALT in your suggestion

You need Adobe Acrobat. To install Acrobat 4 on Win2k machine with Distiller, you need to install a postscript printer. Acrobat 5 solves this problem, I think. Acrobat Reader can't make PDF files. You can drag and drop your files on the Acrobat icon, open the doc file in Adobe Acrobat or click the Adobe button that will be created in Word to create your PDF files. I saw Acrobat Writer in Adobe's download area, but I don't know what that is.

Now, here's a free way:
Install a PostScript printer driver (anything ending with PS or "Postscript"). You don't need to actually have a postscript printer. Instead of clicking on LPT, choose FILE, so you print to file instead of printing to your printer.
When you print from Word (or anything), choose this Postscript printer instead of your normal printer. Check the "print to file" in the Printer dialog. You will get a pop-up asking for a file name and location. Save the file (it'll have a .prn extension).
Open the *.prn file in Wordpad (too big for notepad) and delete the first 3 or 4 lines that don't match the rest of the body. Now save the file with a *.ps extension. You just created a PostScript file.
Download and install Ghostscript and GSView (GPL license, I believe). Open your postscript file in Ghostview. Under File (I think), there is a Convert option. Convert to PDF.

Note: Make sure you install a postscript printer. The "print to file" option will attach the *.prn extension to both postscript and PCL printer documents. PCL won't work.

Doing an alt+prntscrn captures just the active window, instead of the whole destop.
