I'm sure I'm a bit late on commenting on the State of the Union address...
but he was fantastic, expressive, and statesman like! he expressed perfectly that which needed to be said
and I'm damn proud of our president (who I did NOT vote for).

Thats okay, we forgive you. :)

But seriously, Bush has faults and I don't agree with some of his policies, but I am thankful that we can all come together at a time like this and put all those issues on a temporary backburner.

I agree. I think he is doing a great job with all this...lets just hope he doesn't get carried away with it and do something foolish :) I have faith in him though, and he has my full support.

I wanted to watch the whole speech, but about 5-10 minutes in my girlfriend switched to Will & Grace.
It was sorta a win-win situation. As long as he covered the bases of "America is a great country and we will do something about these attacks" then he's in there.

I remember something about "We will bring Justice to the terrorists or the terrorists to justice or maybe justice halfway towards the terrorists and then haul the terrorists over the other half" or something along those lines.

Uh, exactly HOW did she switch to Will and Grace? The speech was on INSTEAD of Will and Grace.

Another partisan Democrat agreeing with you, Doboji - it was far and away the best speech he's given. I also loved that:

-He called specifically for "patient justice", and consistently for justice rather than revenge
-He singled out the Taliban, rather than blaming Afghanistan in general
-He was extremely respectful of Islam, Arabs, and Arab-Americans. Although I'm an atheist, the line about "prayers said in English, Hebrew, and Arabic" was IMO the best line in there

Further, when he talked about the badge, he seemed genuinely moved, which combined with the story moved me very much. Great job to him, and I hope this continues.

Thats because you are a patriot like most people. Red Dawn has also thrown away the politics (for the most part) as have I for the time being.

This isn't a time for politics its a time of unity.
