Coworkers think it's insane.
Family is used to it by now.
Roommates will sit in the other room and cross-post in each other's threads.
 
My boss took me out to lunch for my 30k 😛

My stepdad introduced it to me (Current AT member), but he hardly ever posts. He really doesn't care. My fiancée is a member as well, but she posts more than I do here over on her knitting forum. So really, postcount is a nonissue.
 
I tell my friends about ATOT every so often but I don't bug them to post. They've made accounts but I don't think they're very interested.
 
I'd have to teach most of my family what a forum is, but my brother knows and doesn't think anything of it.

My friends know, they refer to it as the "nerd forum" and posting="nerding". They assume its where I amass my knowledge of computers. They threw a party for my 1000th post (its college, any reason to drink is legitimate).
 
My one cousin knows. Someone on here was looking for a designer a few years back and I suggested him, so he told me that it came from ATOT.
 
Wife is used to my mostly lurking on ATOT. She reads occasionally, and I'll sometimes mention something I read that I thought was funny and tell them on read it on ATOT... I just get weird looks. Oh well.
 
My wife knows about "my message boards" (I am also a mod at Sudhian).
My brother-in-law and cousin-in-law lurk here and post a lot elsewhere.
No one else really knows (or cares) about this dirty little secret.

I have never discussed my post count with anyone. It is a personal matter between me and ATOT.

My girlfriend and family sort of know that I post on some forum. When I say "I'll ask the internet", I'm talking about ATOT.
 
My mom moderates on a few fairly popular forums. Her postcounts dwarf mine...

My wife has an account here with maybe 30 posts.
 
Mom posts on cancer/medical forums. Sis has her knitting/designing forums. Brother-in-law is more into digital art/web design type stuff so he has his own favorite forums. Older brother doesn't know what a forum is. Most friends are IT/computer-techies/gaming nerds so they are cool with it. Most of my coworkers don't get it because 1) it's not like chatting 2) there are no camwhores.
 
No one I know knows about it because they would have absolutely no interest in it. I think my mom knows about it because she liked the book I got from secret Santa here last Christmas, but I don't think she actually fully understands what an internet forum is.
