Do you wear your seat belt when you're driving?

I wouldn't dream about not wearing one. You know the chances of not needing one are pretty good, but it's that one in a million chance that I don't want to tangle with.

Personally, I feel that the car manufacturers went the wrong way with the safety stuff.

Instead of padding everything and making an accident a cushy thing, I think they should line the dash & doors with sharp objects, blades, broken glass ... stuff like that.

If people think they can be careless and live through the consequences, they tend to ignore rules and drive a little more recklessly .... or don't pay as much attention.

You make it fatal to hit something, even a little, and people will start paying attnetion ....

(I use belts, have as long as they've been around ......)

Ah but what if someone were to hit you? Say you were at a stop light and someone rearended you. Or if someone ran a red light and nailed you as you were going through the intersection.
 
always 100% of the time

all passengers must wear a seat belt or they don't ride with me


i was in a car accident at 16 years old (i was driving and fell asleep)
i was wearing my lap belt and my friend riding shotgun wasn't

he smashed the windshield with his forehead when we went off the road and struck a telephone pole
i only bruised my knee

so after that, it was 100% wearing seat belts for me

Inspiration for the Ultimate in "Defensive Driving" PLUS knowing that the driver that hit you is going to far worse off (hopefully shreddedor dead). All the sharp stuff would be in front of the driver (with a big ol' spike in the middle of the steering wheel).

As far as liabillity: All they need is a sticker (ala ladders, & hair dryers) " Failure to avoid impact with other objects is likely to be fatal, please drive carefully ..."

I'm telling ya, it'll work.

Yep, always, even when just moving my car.

And, I refuse to shift out of park until every passenger belts up. I have had 2 major arguments because of this.. but I seriously don't care.. belt up or walk.
 
Reading news stories about how some dudes die after being ejected from a vehicle while their friends survived because they wore a seatbelt tells me enough to always wear it.
