Do you wear sandals in public showers?

I've never worn sandals in locker rooms or in my dorm bathrooms, and didn't think to until my friend told me he was shocked that I don't wear flip flops or something. Is there a genuine risk like planter warts or something or is it just a eww he might've peed in the shower kind of thing?

thought it was for athletes foot.

either way i always do i hate to think somones pee is running on my foot. though when i was in the dorms i would rarely do it.

I always do... but I'm not really sure how it'd help protect my feet. The nasty water is still touching the floor, and then nasty floor water is running all over my feet. How do sandals protect me?

Yes. Don't see the point though. The last public shower I used, the drain was crappy and the water ended up at my angles. Sandals prevented me from touching the floor though...

Hi! Somebody I know got plantar warts from dorm showers!

Those warts just laughed at multiple trips to the doctor for freezing, a number of OTC treatments, and a bit of home surgery, which ultimately resulted in some pain, some blood, and a bonus -- new wart brothers and sisters to add to the original collection of 2. Took literally 10 years before somebody's immune system just up and decided one day that it was time for it to all go away.

Wear the effin' flip flops!

always did in the dorms, to prevent athlete's good and because the hallway between the bathrooms and my dorm room was dirty.

I started wearing flip-flops for "locker room" showers back in high school as an athlete's foot preventative. I haven't showered in anything resembling a public shower without them since.
