I live on my own, no wife/gf/family so of course I'm going to watch everything on a TV. Obviously the only reason anyone would want to watch on a small screen is if they can't.

Nope. Several people in this thread have mentioned that they prefer to use a tablet to watch videos when on their own, and the TV is only for when you have a group that's going to watch something. Also that big TV is much further away than the tablet, so the actual size of the video is comparable.

Honestly I dont find it better on my Nexus 10. Why would it be better?

At 15 feet away for a 60" TV, you get something like 16.5 degree viewing angle. You need a Nexus 10 around 2 ft away to get that same effect. How are you going to accomplish that? Hold it in your hand? Put it on your desk? Its not very ergonomic. Lie in bed?

I lie in bed for TV a lot, and believe me its far easier to look at the TV ahead of me than to hold a Nexus 10 in front of my face. Even if I had a fancy mechanical arm that could hold my Nexus 10 in front of my face, so what? TV gives a better effect in the end. Plus. Sound quality.

I'm not sure what you mean by the 16.5 degree viewing angle. Why is that required? I don't use 10 inch tablets myself, like you say a bit heavy to hold for a while. Though I find my 7 or 8 inch tablets just fine to hold.

Granted, I am not saying it's my prefered method. I usually use the TV. But once in a while when I want to be somewhere quieter. I will watch on my Nexus 7 or G Pad 8.3 with headphones and find it enjoyable as well.

I do it 3-5 times a week on the treadmill. I can stream a full ~44 minute TV episode, a couple ~22 minute ones, or watch part of a movie and finish it on the TV after my workout.

Never said it was better for everyone, just refuting the post that said "Obviously the only reason anyone would want to watch on a small screen is if they can't." which I disagreed with.

The Nexus 10 is an older, bulky tablet by today's standards, but when you're lying down you aren't holding the tablet up in the air (unless you want to?), so the weight issue doesn't apply. For me it's a more personal and immersive experience to watch video on my tablet. I can watch how I want, where I want, whether it's outside on a deck, in bed at night, at a cafe during lunch, on the train ride home, etc.

To me it's the difference between reading a book in your hands and reading text on a projector screen. The former just feels more personal, more of an escape and immersion into whatever it is you are reading/watching.

I find the opposite, I think it's more immersive to sit in front a 60" screen with surround speakers than to watch a tiny tablet, ymmv.

This only makes sense if the tablet is also being positioned in the same place and distance as the TV, which it obviously wouldn't.

However, I agree that it is very much up to individual tastes and preferences.

It is the only reason to get a Galaxy Tab S.

Otherwise, the tablet is below-average on everything else. Lags noticeably.

But it is pretty awesome watching Game of Thrones on it.

Without wearing my glasses.

I like that with Flixster you can download the full movie to your device and not worry about wireless/3G/4G connections. I do this occasionally on my Galaxy phone...

Watching movies, TV shows, youtube vids, etc. on my iPad Air all of the time. Mainly when I'm in my bedroom chilling or at lunch at work. If I'm enjoying a night of TV I'll watch on my big screen, I'm in the living room on the couch.

Now when it comes to sports I always watch on my big screen TV.

The poll needs more options.

Yes I watch on my tablet, no I do not watch anything more than a quick Youtube video on my phone.
