I don't know if it's just me, but I've always believed that movies and tv shows are meant to be watched in a big screen. I feel like I would be missing a lot by watching films and tv shows on small screens with laughable speakers.

Maybe deep inside I'm a movie/tv geek in addition to a computer geek.

Yes. Tablets, often. Phones occasionally. Sound is fine, with headphones.

Note: I have four TVs at home, two of them over 40", and a home theatre with projector (90" image).

Yes, all the time. On my lunch break, during a commute (when on the bus or subway), or even at home. It's one the reasons why I dislike smaller screen phones.

Also a big screen TV that sits on the other side of the room is not actually that much bigger than a phone/tablet that's much closer to your face. I like to catch up on my shows on a tablet in bed before sleeping. I also like to watch video with nice headphones, feels much more immersive and that also works better with a mobile device. Plus you can watch comfortably in basically whatever position you want, unlike with a TV.

Watching on a tablet just feels more immersive, a more personal experience IMHO. The only time I watch stuff on TV is if there's other people wanting to watch as well.

I sometimes watch moves on my tablet.

That 8 inch 1920x1200 screen 10 inches from my face looks bigger than my 1920x1080 55 inch TV 12 feet from my face. 🙂

Yes, ever since I gave up traveling with a 46" TV. Finding pants with pockets big enough to fit that sucker was near impossible.

Agreed. Always on a big screen or my computer monitor if I can. The only time I watch on my tablet is on airplanes where I have no other choice.

Never a phone though.

I like to watch on my monitor at my desk (it offers a larger apparent screen size at the close distances I sit from my screen than my 50" TV) but there are plenty of situations where I only have my phone with me so I'd watch something. A 5" AMOLED screen is competent enough even if it's nowhere near a large screen.

Yes, since 2003. I would use Orb to stream a tuner to a Pocket PC cell phone over 1xRTT.

These days, I use Slingbox and Plex. The iPad doubles as my TV everywhere except the living room. I only have one television in the whole house. Everywhere else needs a mobile device to stream.

I'm the same. Now when I have kids I'm probably going to get a tablet for long rides so they can watch stuff but that's really it.

I don't even like surfing the internet on my phone!

I'll watch on my tablet in my kitchen, or if I'm gaming full screen. Otherwise, it's on my computer monitor or my TV.

Time to waste watching a movie is rare for me - I like to be in my recliner so it doesn't hurt if I fall asleep.

Movies are what I have a home theater for. However I have used my Kindle Fire and my laptop rarely for movies, pretty much never on my phone. Just the occasional YouTube video.

My laptop never gets used anymore.

All the time - the best screen is the one you have with you at any given time. When you're on the train, when you're waiting for your SO to finish shopping, when you're bored at a relative's house, when you're eating lunch at your desk, etc.

Is it my preferred way of watching content? No - of course I prefer a big TV with surround sound. But living in Manhattan - I've easily watched more content on my phone than my TV in the last year. My tablet is in a middle no mans land (Nexus 7 and iPad Air). If I'm at home with these devices, then I rather use my TV or computer. If I'm out in normal circumstances, I don't carry a tablet. I end up only using a tablet when I'm travelling.

Yup. Live at home now and my parents set as many arbitrary rules as humanly possible. One of which was that I had to keep all of my stuff in the basement.
The second of which is that I'm not allowed to spend time in the basement.

So can't watch my TV now. So I watch on my Nexus 7.

As of right now, I don't own a Smart Phone, but if I did I would just watch the movie on my Television, I don't like sitting on a computer, especially watching a movie on such a small screen.

You'll miss out on all the action unless you have one of the bigger models of smart phones.

only time i ever do is when im flying, watch them on my tablet. thats it.
i mean ill watch a random web vid on my phone if its linked on a forum or in a news article but I never watch anything of length on it

I watch TV shows when I'm on the train to and from work. Its about 46 minutes, so it works out perfectly for a 1hr tv show without commercials.

My family has different tastes in TV shows and movies than I do. I use my tablets all the time! Being able to sit on my porch, relaxing viewing Orange is the New Black is wonderful!

My HP Touchpad running CM9 is my TV/movie tablet. With its 768x1024 resolution, it's the perfect tablet for viewing SD streaming videos from XBMC. Touchpad also has nice loud speakers.

Haha. Movies are actually glorious on my Note 12.2. Despite several large TVs in my house I generally prefer to grab the 12.2 if I'm just watching something by myself. TVs are for watching with family/friends.

On rare occasions I'll watch something on my Note 3. I have a whole stash of TV shows and movies on the SD card just in case. The other day I watched a show in a doctor's office waiting room.

Always with headphones. Speakers on all mobile devices are a joke IMO.
