Do you want to see an AT BF2 server?

The server would not be hosted off the same connection that runs the CS source server, I would pay to have it hosted in a data center. It would be located on the West Coast.

A few questions for you people.

1) How many players is optimal? Keep in mind that more players costs more, so I want to balance it out.
2) Is it important for your server to be ranked?
3) Are most ranked servers regularly full? Or do you see a lot ofservers that are regular empty.
4) What's the best map(s) to play? (haven't played in ages)
5) Do you know of any good BF2 server hosts? Quality is of paramount concern.
6) Is there anything else I need to know, or any other reccomendations?

Thanks!

If the answer is yes, I'll hopefully have it going within the next 3-5 days. Going to do my research before I buy the server, though. It will be subscribed for one month, and near the end I will re-examine it to see whether people want it for a second month.

Edit: Another question added.

I only play occasionally because its hard to find a good group that will actually use teamwork. I would say for AT, 32 players max should be enough, large maps are a waste unless you have the maximum number of players.

That's one of the big reasons I was hoping to make an AT BF2 server, as we could hvae a team of guys. If there is sufficient interest I'll go ahead and buy it. I had 32 palyers in mind also.

If anyone could check their ping on this server it would be appreciated:

64.27.3.134:16567

That's essentially the same server (from the same host) that I intend to use. Any feedback?

I used to play a decent amount, play much less now. I prefer 16 player servers, personally. I dont' think there's one map thats the best, they're all OK ... probably best to cycle the standard ones if you can. I'd prefer a ranked server but if yours was unranked I'd still play on it the few times I play.

It would be ranked if I did it. The cost is the same.

Can you explain why you like 16 player servers? I think it may have some benefits as then AT members can make a large amount of the server up, so we can ensure that teamwork is occurring.

Another question has been added to the poll. Please only answer it if you voted yes in question 1.

The fact you live on the east coast might have a lot to do with it.

Ping this IP also, it's DeviousTraps. He's another option for hosting.
