I always signal, and it pisses me off when others don't. The only thing I DO sometimes do is forget to turn my signal off when I'm riding my motorcycle.

Turn signals have become automatic for me as well, maybe even a little too automatic. I recall one time when there was no-one else on the road and I had to swerve mildly to avoid a dog, didn't realize untli afterwards that I had used my turn signal to alert the abandoned road to my swerve. To be honest, though, I was running on ver little sleep at the time, so I guess it was autopilot taking over. What annoys me, and apparently others here as well, are the peopl who pull up to a four way stop and don't turn their signal on until they have come to a complete stop. It's a pet peve of mine, but the turn signal should come on before the brake lights in that situation. At least that's how things go in my little world. :)

You should have done a Poll.

I also signal all the time. It use to bug me when people did not do this but the fact is getting all pissed off about it is not going to stop the morons so why bother. I have bigger fish to fry now anyway. Where I live it seem like more and more people are just drive right through red lights and stop signs. Now that's scary.

If I'm on a bike or something it annoys me when people don't bother using their signal because there aren't any cars around

i always signal, even when nobody is around. I make it into a habit to do so for courtesy. Nowadays, people don't even bother to signal which (sometimes) pisses me off.

eyor, I can't begin to tell you how much it irritates me that people driving cars don't watch out for motorcycles. I've just gotten used to it and accepted that as part of the risk I choose to take when I get on my bike. Unfortunately, no matter how many people on bikes are killed by the people who just weren't looking. The American population isn't going to change it's driving habits. Everone owns the road, and everyone is in a big damn hurry to beat the next guy to the stop light. Just the way things are. My advise is, when you are on your bike, just make believe you're invisible. People typically don't condition themselves to look for motorcycles, their only concern is with the other cars on the road.

YES, I use my signals.

Also, I get irritated by the following: When someone is turning left onto a road with two lanes going in one direction, the person automatically heads for the right lane. They fail to go into the left lane first and then make a lane change into the right lane.

I think most people simply forget what they learned in from their driver's instruction course a month after the course is over.

It's common sense to signal. Don't do it and you could cause a major accident!

BTW - most of the people who've posted in this thread, said that they signal. That's probably because those who don't signal are too ashamed to admit it, and are keeping far away from this thread.. :)

Vigilantly! :) Another thing that drives me crazy is when there are multiple turn lanes and the people in the inboard lane attempt to turn and simultaneously sweep across the other lanes... across my path, if I'm in the next turn-lane over. Then there's the people who turn from inboard NO-TURN lanes... doh, I better stop right here or there will be a MegaRant!

No, I can't wait for the day that I can say, "You know, that guy wouldn't be dead if I'd used my signals."
