Do you use your phone for music or keep it separate on an iPod/similar device?

Do you find it better to get keep the devices separate and have a smartphone for phone/app use and maybe some games, but keep music separate on an iPod?

Is the trade-off of carrying two devices worth it simply for reasons like battery life?

Phone does everything, even computing duty when necessary.
