Do you use your corporate card....

There's no way in hell I would ever do that for obvious ethical reasons.. but on top of that, there's no way they wouldn't notice immediately...

the corporate card is secured by the company on the merit's of its credit worthiness and paid by the company. You have no right to use it for personal use.

my corporate charge card is in my name and address and I'm responsible for paying the bills regardless what I spend. I just need to create an expense report and include receipts for job related expenses. The expense report will be audited, not my credit card statement. I usually don't charge stuff on my corporate card regardless if it's job or personal expense because you don't get any points. The only advantage of my corporate charge card is a really high or no credit limit.

Why would you even need to use it for personal use? Who doesn't have personal credit cards they can use? Plus, you wouldn't get any cash back or rewards points with your corporate card.

That's not true. I was able to use the rewards on one of my corporate cards.

i don't even use it. first, you can only use it in the US which is gay, second i have a rewards card that i'd rather use and expense.

Even if your company allows you to use it for personal stuff and pay the bill yourself... what's the value of doing that? 😕

Some folks do it because their personal card may be to the limit.

My corporate card is under my name and everything. I just pay the bill and write an expense report with receipts and I get reimbursed. And I do get reward points with my corporate card because it's an Amex Platinum 🙂. When you buy server farms and equipment with it points add up fast.

I have a corporate card that lies fallow in my wallet. I use my personal card for business stuff. I am a miles whore...

Nope. This thread came about because of a conversation I had with some folks over lunch (we all work for different companies).

it is grounds for immediate termination here.

My employers have never cared. I don't make a practice of it because if I'm going to charge something to a credit card, I'd like to have the points/rewards to myself.

You must have a very limited employment experience.

Not all corporate cards are the same and, shockingly, not all companies are the same.

I do sometimes. But we categorize our expenses after the charges go through the system. Personal stuff gets deducted from my paycheck. I use it on rare occassions.

My sister, OTH, uses hers as her primary card. Her company makes all employees get a corporate AMEX, which all employees pay the fees for. I don't get it...but that's how it goes.

That's a very good reason not to do it. 😉 Having debt that you can't pay off on a company card seems like a good way to get fired.

I hear you! I hope those that use their corporate cards in this fashion realize this and don't do it!

Company allows for this under terms of the contract you sign to get a card. Obviously you have to pay it off, or they just dock your next check. 😛

My personal CC trumps the company one though.
