Do you use your cellphone as your main phone?

Yeah, I just moved and we don't have a land line because we're trying to save money. I figured my cellphone would do fine as a main phone, but I turned it off in my friends car yesterday and today they left for california :Q

I'm so stupid Does this happen to anyone else? I'll get it back in a week but heck it sucks bigtime.

My cell has been my only phone for the last 3 years. Works great for me, cause I don't use the phone very much.

Of course, it sucks when you try to apply for a credit card that *requires* the applicant to have a valid land line to be considered for it :|. Damn you Citibank.

basically its my main phone, but i also have a land line at my apartment just in case. all my outgoing calls are from my cell phone though

No, because cell phone coverage at my house really blows dick. I've tried a couple different providers but it doesn't matter. I think they all use the same equipment anyway so it will blow dick no matter which one I go with.

i have 6 people in my family so we still have our landline. However ever since i got my cell phone i've probably only had a handful of calls to our landline that were for me (usually the freakin military recruiters)

Got high speed internet so no real need for a land line anymore. That and the land line was like $18 but had another $5-10 added on, so I said forget that. That and most calls were from telemarketers. So why pay to listen to that junk.

what do you do in an event of a national/regional emergency when all the cell towers are inundated with calls ?

In the great blackout of 2003 in the northeast, the landline we had allowed us to communicate. Cell phones were crapped out, except for the very occasional VZW phone working.

In the 9/11 attacks... well... you get the point.

We pay $18/mo. and happen to make 0 calls on the landline... but we're keeping it for emergencies.

if there ever is a national emergency, i'm going out back, getting in my redneck inflatable pool, and drinking corona till the cows come home - i won't need a phone, just a coozie.

we have a landline, but for DSL purposes only -- no long distance service, and it's only $6/month. only thing it gets regular use for is Tivo, since there happens to be a phone jack right in back of the television.
