I have a canon camera on the way and I'm looking for a software to use for resizing, touching up, etc
I'm trying to decide if I should avoid the canon software and use something else

NO
i had no use for Nikon Picture Project or whatever came with my D70, i used teh Nikon capture trial but Photoshop CS is better, and that all i use

I use Canon software to stitch images together. I use photoshop CS 8.0 to edit images, and I use windows explorer to view them

i haven't used photoshop extensively, so i can't say.

most of the time i'm just resizing, cropping, red-eye reduction, etc. nothing fancy.

btw, photoshop elements 3.0 has a photoshop album-type organizer built in. looks pretty interesting.

I got a limited version of Photoshop a few hard drives ago bundled free with a Maxtor hd......still use it and see no reason to move to anything else.
