We don't have such an animal but Wally World does and I use it because the lines are shorter.

Yes I do...because its a LOT faster...and Yeah yeah... I know it ruins jobs...the more you use them the less jobs there are, but I guess that doesnt matter to me much...

When there is no line yes because it is quicker.
If there is a line I go to the cashier which is usually quicker than the asshats trying to use self check.

yes. Especially because it's funny watching the old guy in front of me look at the screen blankly, not knowing what he's doing.

I prefer it, sometimes it's faster, though with all the questions they ask now it might actually be slower.

No, and I still do the bagging. Sorry, but even cashiers need jobs. That, and the damn machines ONLY LET YOU DO ONE ITEM AT A TIME, whereas a good cashier can do 300x as fast. I once had a full (You know, like full to the top) cart checked and bagged (Cashier checking, me bagging) before some goomba at the self-checkout even had 1 bag's worth.

As long as their are no old people there using it because it's the most exciting thing to happen since Matlock went into syndication or if there are moms attempting to scan 30 packets of KoolAid only to not have the scales recognize they threw it in the bag.

If I got the all clear I take my 12pack and generic cereal over there and I'm out like the old lady on Survivor.

I should mention that I'd be all for self-checkout is they were actually the same equipment as a normal register. Fast, efficient, AND NOT FVCKING WHINEY.

I would if my store had them; I used to work at the grocery store and I'm still more competent than those illiterate bastards who put things on top of my bread.

Never thought about it that way before. But why would I care if anyone else saw me buying deli meat and some bread and cereal.

its embarrasing when you have a wife/girlfriend and you are carrying sensitive girl stuff up to the cashier.

I use them when there's no lines for them and I have a few things that don't require weights/special codes. It's much faster than waiting in the regular checkout lines behind the old bitty with the checkbook she can't fill out until the whole thing is rang up and she has them pricecheck the cans of hash.

Never. The store's put a markup on every item to cover cashier's, bagboys etc... If I did it myself, that's money free & clear in their pocket. And it put's someone out of a job.

Plus I shop every week. I see morons trying to use those & they're still at the checkout before & after I'm done at a human checkout lane.
