I use the left shift key. Screw all the pedants who think you should only use the left shift key if you're typing on the right side of the keyboard. The only time it makes a difference is when I'm typing a capital A or Q. It's not difficult to move my ring finger over to hit those keys.

My reaction was: there's a right shift button?
Then I looked down, oh...

Left, except in certain isolated situations.

I believe I type about 80-85wpm w/ the dvorak layout. I used to be faster, but switching from qwerty -> dvorak left my mind rather mushy.

Never gave it much thought until now but I use the left shift exclusively. Not even sure I've ever used the right one.

I dont think the typing tests will work since if you switch styles, you will type slower since you have to think about using the other shift key.

I only use the left shift every time i need a capital letter. it's weird.

May I assume you're right handed?

my right HAND is dominant, but my left ARM is dominant too. it's really weird. i write with my right hand, eat with my right hand, but hold guns with my left hand and play tennis with my left hand.
