lol. of course i use it

all you guys who seem so proud not to, do you also watch commercials when you can fast forward, or scan channels one by one, even though you know there is a set of 20 channels you know you will NEVER watch? please...

I don't watch TV, but even if I did, it's a different situation. With a commercial, you're held hostage until it's over. With a post you don't like, you just keep scrolling. EVERYBODY has something valuable to add at some point. Some posters you have to look pretty hard, but it's there if you're paying attention.

Exactly you can just keep scrolling and choose not to read it.

Nope what's the point. Seems kind of childish too me. Sure I've gotten butt hurt a few times, though rarely. Putting someone on ignore smells of calling the wahhambulance. I'm not in kindergarten anymore.

I don't always watch tv, but when I do, I prefer a DVR.

If vBulletin had the capability, I'd put some particular posters on other particular posters ignore lists. That'd make things a lot easier around here.

Nope. Using technology instead of self control is a sign of weakness. Yup.
An even bigger sign of weakness is "ignoring" someone, then reading and replying to their posts anyway.
Some of the excuses they make to explain why they read the ignored posts are delightful.

My ignore feature works a bit differently. If I ignore you everyone else does too.

Yep I sure do. All because they're annoying, and never reading their posts again, or at least minimizing the chances, makes my life better.

Yes.

Some of their names reference 40+ year old movies. Some reference fucked up animals that are a mix of a duck and a something else. Some like to reference starwars... Some reference tiny things that you kill off your dogs with a little special stuff from petsmart...

There's 12 on the list so far. I should be ignoring more, but then I'd have half of ATOT's threads start with, "You have this user on ignore."

Just mentally skip certain posts. If I ignore, then how will I ever know if I've been challenged to a duel?

dmcowen and moonbeam are the only people on my ignore list, on account of perpetually useless and trolling posts in every single forum that they touch.

No, I don't. Probably only considered it maybe 2 or 3 times, and that's more due to someone posting a lot and it being clear they're just trolling (spamming basically the same responses over and over and clearly not actually debating anything) or when our resident tough guy has to grab some attention and I get wore out rolling my eyes over his responses.

Not sure what it has to do with self control, but ooook....

Cant.
I also ignore sigs.

It was made abundantly clear to me we are never allowed to talk about sigs, ever.
May as will not display them.

I ignore sigs too. They're a waste of space (thus more scroll time) when you're doing 100 posts per page.

The only person on my list is neckbeard\HAL. And it looks like he posted quite a bit in this thread. I've considered adding Moonbeam, but reading his posts really gets me angry, and then I send him hateful PMs that entertain me, so it all works out.

Moonie and Spaceman are awesome. Dont ever ignore them, they are the Golden Saints of this joint.
Hostile, yes, but fun to watch and usually full of rewards.

Yeah I definitely use my ignore list, but I generally use it to remind myself to approach certain members responses with caution when they post, that being said some of them I will completely ignore, in L&R I read everyones posts. Some of them I will only read when I feel like being entertained by someone trying to insult me. That's my system.
