AF sometimes.
I never use AA unless Im playing a game where I can't up the resolution, such as the FreeSpace games, they're locked at 640x480 for FS1 and a max of 1024x768 for FS2, so I use AA there.

Unless you have a small monitor, say 17" or smaller, I really don't understand what all the fuss is about, to me AA is nearly useless except in cases like the ones I described.

don't do it because my old 8500 pro can't handle FSAA on current games. Still a good card, just gotta leave FSAA off.

I usually play with 6x and 16x at 1280x1024 (thats the native resolution of my LCD, so I always play at that res if the game supports it). In some games I don't notice much if any difference (like a lot of FPS ones, I am probably too busy trying not to get shot to notice, heh) and on some games the difference is HUGE. IL2 for instance shows a huge difference with AA. The wings of planes look much much better among other things.

what i want is more games that make it easier to implement resolution changes and FSAA/AF changes.

for example, the far cry demo. i hate messing around with the settings cuz yer forced to exit and restart the game in order for the changes to take.

i'd like to be able to simply escape to the main menu, select options, change what i wanna change, and return to the game to see the difference and notice the FPS hit.

and with so many games bugging out on AA/AF recently, i dont dare set it in my display settings full time. i'd rather keep it on application and then have the application have the ability to easily change it without much fuss.

I always use 16x performance AF.
I run at the highest resolution possible, usually 1792 x 1344 or 1600 x 1200.
I only use AA in older games that have a resolution limit of 1600 x 1200 or lower.

Depends on the game. I use Radlinker so setting up individual settings for individual games is seamless.

Usually playing games at 1280x1024 or 1280x960. I use aa pretty much all the time... why? because it smoothes out the rough edges and looks better. Oh and ut2k4 looks awesome, plays awesome, and is awesome. The best game of the year so far.

Always 4XAA, 16XAF. I find that on my Radeon9600Pro, there's not much of a performance difference between 4XAA and no AA, while the improved image quality of no jaggies is pretty big for me.

Is it only for specific games or can you go into your control panel for that, because the 9800XT control panel only goes up to 6xAA..

thanks

Remember that peoples' settings will often be based on what card they have and what games they play. You'll have experiement a bit with your own configs to see what works best for you.

2xAA/4xAF 1024x768 works pretty good. if it's choppy, i'd turn AA/AF off.... and I'm still happy ;)

Most games at 1024x768, with FSAA and AF, except for any of the Homeworld games - then it's 1280x1024(or 960, whichever), with no FSAA, but max AF.
Heck, I've got a 9700 Pro, gotta use the features. :D
