Using fat32 on all my partitions except one

fat32 partitions can be seen with a boot disk, whereas ntfs, you are SOL

Using one ntfs partition for the fact that it can do large file sizes, need this for ripping dvd's(backups of course)
I can see NTFS partitions with a boot disk.

how?

There are 3rd party DOS drivers.

I do not like having to purchase them just to be able to access my disk from a floppy though. Free is good

Yeah Free is good, that's why I use OpenBSD. But what do you need a floppy for on a Windows system?

System utilities, and various old pieces of hardware.

Fat32 for me, Faster and it can be accessed without problems with a standard boot disk.

FAT32 is a problem waiting to happen with large partitions, I have seen it self destruct many times.

I like NTFS because I rip lots of digital video. With FAT 32, I think you can't use/create files larger than like 4 gb or something (can't remember exactly what).
