Compressed air makes it easy and you don't even have to shut the computer down.

I use fans. There isnt that much dst in my Computer, but sometimes it starts restircting airflow in like 2 weeks.

Dust is like wearing a sweater in July. In the shade it might be OK but once
activity starts in the bright sun light the heat is held close to the body. ;-)

I use the plastic, two-piece filter holders from SVC.com ($ 1.99) - they work fine for me and the filter is easily replaced with foam air conditioner filter material. But then, I don't use these wimpy fans that are all the rage these days... . My main intake fan can crank up to 120 CFM so it doesn't mind a layer of dust on the filter much...

I have fans like that right now, and I hate it. I replace my 120mm Sunons with quieter fans, and I get to replace my 8 56 cfm fans on Monday with CM fans... It should be so much quieter in there...

Hey tas,
. I never actually RUN that fan at max speed - it is actually pretty quiet at about 2/3 of max and still pushes plenty of air. But I won't tell where I got it, so don't ask...

I know its just my issues with silence, but am curious to why some need to turn their fans up to 120 cfm's? Or even 2/3's of that. Thats ...what...80cfm's? This is not directed towards you specifically Z but all who use high cfm setups. What are ya'll cooling?

Okay. I guess I could have put the fans on a controller. But I just as soon replace them, since I'm going the UV / LED route with my machine. Unfortunately, my fan cages won't be hot swappable after I replace the 8 fans... That kinda sucks, but oh well. Can't do everything.

Well, my fan has to push the air past a stack of 3 10k SCSI drives (thru a CoolerMaster 4 in 3 enclosure) before it gets to the rest of the system, and I want the air after it leaves the drives to still be cool enough to help with the rest of the system cooling.

I'm water cooling my next system so I only need minimal air flow. I've spent quite some time and energy (hours and hours!) adding a show car glossy finish to the case I'll be using for my next system, so I'll probably opt for filters to keep it clean.

Man, I got the 8 new CM LED fans. You can't feel the air flow coming from them a foot away from the fan. I don't know if I should return them for stronger fans, or what... And the last Seasonic I purchased (the 500) was sleeved, and this one (600) wasn't. And I don't have the stuff to sleeve the molded plugs on the cables.

Looks like I'll be putting more fans in the side panels with filters!!

Off the floor will keep it cleaner. How about just cleaning the basement? Take a broom to walls, then vacuum the floor. That should keep your computer clean for a few months.

no. i usually use my air compressor to clean my case out every couple months.
