Do you use cruise control?

I can't cruise at 80, otherwise I'll need to weave to avoid slow ass drivers who think the far left lane is for any speed less than 80.

If I want to cruise I put it to 70 and relax in either the middle left or middle right lane.

I use to on longer trips, but my car had a recall ordering the disabling of cruise control (because it was starting fires).

Yes, yes. In addition to the freeways, I use it on the secondary roads and highways around my neighborhood, because it's too easy to speed and get a ticket with all the traps nearby. It's quite satisfying to see someone blast by me going 15 over and getting pulled over.

Yes, I use CC almost all the time. Also, I do not use the CC accelerate feature... in a not-so-scientific test, I used the CC accelerate and then simply used the pedal and reset the CC position. Using the pedal raised my gas mileage as I accelerated slower (and more efficiently) than the car did with the CC system.

You must be freakin' talented.

You don't know the half of it 😉.

EDIT:

Although I do use Accelerate/Coast feature on the CC to typically go down in 1mph increments rather than attempt to adjust. Like if based on initial visual "calculations" (not really calculations, but just guesstimations) of a car going x miles below me, I will slow down accordingly. I can't stand drivers that use the "ride the ass" technique when it comes to equalizing the speed.

I use it all the time especially in areas I know to be speed traps, even when I'm going as low as 45 mph if I don't expect there to be many reasons to slow down or stop.

That isn't to say I don't speed. I just set it at what I figure I can get away with and have the piece of mind that I'm not going to accidentally start going above that.

Smokey isn't going to catch me 😉

What kind of car do the people that voted no have?

Mine is a base trim Honda Fit. I got it because they were out of the Sport models. I was fine with the lack of certain other features (no MP3/aux jack didn't matter, got a new stereo; no spoiler/alloys/fog lights didn't matter, they're cosmetic features only) but the lack of cruise is kind of annoying. Then again I don't drive very long distances so it's not the end of the world.

Yes and Maybe. Depends on road conditions. My two cars both have CC. The cavalier has a pretty good CC and I use it pretty often on the freeway. The caprice is carbeurated, and the CC can't keep up with the finer points of the car's operation as much as I can. I can vary as much as 5mph depending on what the carb is doing and what gear I am in. It isn't worth the trouble...

I drive down a 22 mile country road where the speed limit is 70 every weekday, yes i cruise control.

I'VE ALSO BEEN KNOWN TO CRUISE CONTROL MY COOL.

I wish I could. The idiots around here don't know how to hold a constant speed, and I'm always F'n with it. I feel like I'm playing a video game when I try use CC.
Cruise...coast button...coast button...
abort!! hit brakes...resume....coast...
accel..coast...........

I voted yes, and no, though I would like to :^/

For some reason cruise control seems to use more gas. I tested it more than a couple times on the same roads and it always uses more gas. I don't understand why.

You may be a better driver than most. Most people use their accelerator as an exercise pedal, and CC will help in that case. You can plan ahead, and use hills to your advantage. CC only reacts to current conditions.

There are lots of hills and curves around here and I know the roads all too well. I use it on the freeway, just not on back roads even though there are no stops/traffic and no real need to slow down.

One poll would have been better:

No Cruise control.
Cruise control - don't use
Cruise control - do use
CRUISE CONTROL
