Do you use coupons in the restaurant?

I occasionally get ValPak coupons and another coupon book from the city with coupons to various joints. Typically, it's smth like pizza, chinese places, etc. But sometiems they include coupons to nicer places as well. But for some reason, I feel a bit awkward... all right, I feel like a fvcking cheapskate presenting a coupon at paytime in places like 'Outback house' or some other joint...

It's perfectly ok for me to use a coupon for a pizza, or let's say, to get some fastfood deal, but when it comes to 'get 1 dinner plate, get 1 free', I just can't force myself to whip out a coupon... Cause I know I have the money to pay for it, and it's not like I'm in a dire need...

When I'm ordering for pickup or delivery, sure. When I'm eating at the restaurant...I save myself the embarassment. The only times I go out to eat are with my girlfriend or other friends. They all know I'm a cheap bastard, but no one wants a friend to embarass them that way.
 
Only one time when it wasn't take-out or fast-food. It was for a free appetizer at TGI Friday's
 
Yeah all the time. Who cares what other people think. It's my money and I do it all the time. My GF doesn't like it, but I dont care.
 
I ve only used coupons at fast food places and take out places. Ive used gift cards at nicer places, but i think most people have as well.

Gift cards are fine in any situation, I think.
 
Embarassed? It's not like you're busting out food stamps or anything... The restaurants put out coupons to get more business, I dont see how using one coudl be embarassing...

I guess some people dont like to be seen as a penny pincher. It definitely varies between people
