I personally use body wash. I find it easier to use and better on the skin. Right now I am using Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash.
 
I use the same shampoo I use on my hair.

Bar soaps get nasty if you use them often and get used up to fast when they are in the shower and liquid soap is really only used for washing my hands near the sink.

Whenever I use them, just soak a washcloth with them a bit after getting it wet, and placing it back in the shower slot they get wet and slimy and are never as nice again.

Plus you always end up with tiny pieces that never work out and you end up tossing them.

Also I prefer to only use the washcloth on my face and the loofa with the shampoo on the rest of my body as unless you get a different washcloth every day you are using the same washcloth on your face as you use on your junk.

One thing I like about my body wash too is that it is sent free and hypoallergenic. I hate soaps with strong smells.

i use softsoap. i used to use dove but dove leaves soap residue all over the shower. also the outside of the dove bar lathers really well but as the soap gets smaller it gets hard and nonbubbly
 
Bar Soap 100%. I use Ivory lol, seems like the basic stuff has the least irritating scents. Dove has bars that are like 1/3rd the volume of Ivory, incase you forgot how big a bar of soap is supposed to be.
 
Body wash. I like Axe Snake Peel or Nivea. Bar soap dries me out too much (I have a problem with eczema and dry skin irritates it). It's also easier to use. Those using bar soap should give it a try once.
