Do you use a screen saver?

I don't bother with screensavers anymore. I just set my monitor to turn off after 15 minutes. Screensavers are redundant now.

Nope, screen-savers are a waste of CPU time.. time that can be better put to use in any of several Distributing Computing projects that Team Anandtech is a member of.

Yep, I use a screensaver.
I use the My Pictures Slideshow screensaver which comes with WinXP.
Since my 21" monitor is in the living room, everyone gets a kick out of the slide show from the folder of latest family pix.

No point in using one. The energy saving functions shuts mine off after 40 mins. Much better than a screen-burner.

What's the point of a screensaver? Just something to look at? But it usually turns on while you're away, so who sees it?
