LCD = its a space saver, I'll use it whenever i can (even in gaming). the one thing i dislike though is the brightness when it comes to games. I have to constantly adjust the brightness on the LCD, some games are always darker than others. I like CRT's for every possible usage with PC's = except the space they take up. to bad their isnt such a product as a crt that's the same size as an LCD (I need as much desk space as i can get). another thing i can do with a lcd (it would be more diffuclt with a crt) is suspend it on a wall like a flat screen tv!!

Good CRT like Mitsu 2070 will run you around $500-600. Good LCD like 2001FP or 2005FP will run you around $350-450.

Yeah, show me the 2005FP for 350....

More like 400-550, and then only closer to $400 when you can get one of the good deals. Fact is, the CRT is still going to provide much better image quality, better colors, and better for gaming/movies (not counting fact that 2005FP is widescreen). Don't kid yourself. I have an LCD too, but if I had the space and didn't move my computer around much, I'd definitely have a CRT.

I paid $346 for my new 2005FPW direct from Dell couple weeks ago. Actually it's $335 if you take into account FatCash. I'm running dual monitor setup of 2001FP and Sony G520P, both bought new one and half years ago so I'm not CRT hater. Both have + and - and I've no intention of getting rid of my 21" Trinitron. If anything, 2001FP will go when I get 2405FPW and G520P will stay. Unless of course if I get a bigger desk. Then all three will stay.

2005fpw. Bought it for my wife to replace her old 21" Nokia 445Xpro Shadow Mask. The CRT is fine but my 2 1/2 year old daughter is starting to use the computer to view her education websites and I figured LCD would be better for her young eyes. My wife loves the extra physical deskspace and the room is now couple degrees cooler.

Depends on what you played on. I know my current LCD is better than ANY CRT that I have previously owned, and I had a couple nice CRT;s.

CRT. I'd like an LCD--it'd give me a lot more usable desk space (on mine, there's barely enough room for the keyboard in front of the monitor, so I can't sit down and work on something using paper very easily).

No, I meant, what deal allowed for the 2005FPw to be only $346. I don't see it anywhere, even a few weeks back in hot deals. What coupons, etc..did it use.

Anyway, I use an LCD and game. However, I would not have switched to an LCD if I had not gone to college and needed the slimmer profile.

I also received 3% back from FatCash which you don't see here. So that's another $10 off. If not for darn tax, it would've been $336 after FatCash. It sucks Dell now collects sales tax in GA because of dumb kiosk booths they have at some malls. If you're fortunate to live in 28 other states Dell does not charge sales tax, you could've got this LCD for $336 back on April 21.

Very impressive..I never heard a thing about this deal. People still seem to think getting a 2005 for close to 400 is ridiculous.
