Well I'm an optimist but I'm rarely disappointed. If I get my hopes up for something and it doesn't happen, oh well.

^ which would be disappointment. yes. 😉

I suppose... "disappointment" just has a negative connotation and that's not the case for me usually.

EDIT: Where's the poll?! 🙂

some say pessemist, but I prefer the term "realist".

if something is bad, we accept it and move on. I don't go out of my way to find some positive aspect, because it bad parts are what needs to be addressed the most.

but if something is good, I'm not going to go out of my way to find a dark cloud on the horizion.

I guess I would be a realist too... if something's bad I either try and fix it or if it can't be fixed, forget about it. Maybe an optimistic-realist is most accurate. 😛 Haha

*When a glass is filled 50% with water: a pessimist says the glass is half empty, an optimist says the glass is half full, and an engineer says the glass is 40% bigger than it needs to be.

Not to be a jerk, but wouldn't that make the glass 100% bigger than it needs to be?

A good engineer leaves a safety margin 😉

Exactly. Who likes carrying around a glass that is overflowing and spilling everywhere? What if your needs change slightly next time? Etc.
