I was out grocery shopping and I was in the meat aisle, beef section, steak division. I noticed that almost no one touched their steaks before buying them.

I always touch my beef to feel the texture, provided its wrapped of course.

Do you touch your meat?

I don't because you can't tell much from that. As stated marbling is key... If you marinate a steak and allow its temp to rise to 65-70 degrees before grilling, it will cook more evenly. Marinating briefly helps tenderize the meat.

Why would you need to touch the meat? All you need to do is look at the marbling and thickness.

I don't buy meat aside from Spam and sausage. Neither are conducive to fondling.

You don't stroke your sausage before buying? :awe: I like to deep throat it first. (Provided it's wrapped)

The sausage I buy is frozen in multiple units. Deep throating would be difficult, but I imagine I'd be popular in some circles if I could :^D

Everyone knows the sphincter scale is the only appropriate method of determining a sausage's quality. Sure it may look a bit odd to lower your pants in the store to test it before you buy it but the quality assurance is well worth the odd looks. I use this method and everyone tells me my sausage tastes delicious
