I don't use hipster dbag services, so, no.

Talk about misguided hate. Good grief. There's nothing hipster or dbag about it. It's an alternative form of taxi that's cheaper and in many situations considerably faster and more convenient. Unless you are in a *MAJOR* city like Chicago or NY it's not that easy to get a cab. Some places it's over 20 minutes to get one. I live in a city of 400,000 and if you want a night out without worrying about a DUI Lyft is half the price of a taxi and I'm home 20 minutes faster.

But hate away!

But it's actually better and cheaper than a taxi (in most cases). :hmm:

Edit: As an example, you can book a cab for a trip to the airport here a day in advance and the assholes still don't show up or even call to let you know they aren't coming. They know you are going to the airport, which means you could miss a flight. They don't give a shit.

There's a reason Uber and Lyft are popular, and it's because cab companies are fucking terrible.

I live in nyc and own a car so I guess I'm jaded. Even trips to the airport, I can get to them via subway or bus for less than 3 bucks.

sometimes you're drunk as fuck and you want to head to midtown from LES for $10 without walking and waiting 10 minutes for the subway.

that said, in NYC Uber/Lyft are only marginally less expensive than cabs. As a consumer, I found that NYC can easily support both Uber/Lyft & cabs.

Drivers get the short end of the stick for Uber. If I ever use it, 3-4 bucks automatic.

I deliver pizzas, so I know the feeling of stiffs. After all, since drivers are merely heads for the sacrifice to the gods of profit and cheapskates.
