Do you tip-toe while walking in houses?

I grew up in a house with noisy floorboards and a mother with over-sensitive hearing. As a result, I now walk with a slight tip-toe by habit whenever I'm in a house. I wondered if anybody else had this idiosyncrasy.

Do you walk in houses with a slight tip-toe? (Your heels barely touch the ground).

I voted yes because, although I dont do it at home, I do it in other peoples homes if their floors are creaky.

Now that I think about it, yeah I kinda do. I walk really quietly when I'm not wearing shoes, and I HATE people who walk hard & loud with their heels all the time.

Yep, I try to walk quietly around the house. I don't know why, though.

Some of you seem to be confusing the concept with a slow, stealth tip-toe. I'm talking about walking at a normal fast pace, but your heels just rarely touch the floor.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one :D

Yes I do the exact thing. My sister thinks it looks really weird when I do it.

Whenever I'm walking around the house my heels never touch the ground....usually about 1 cm off the ground.

I hate those people too. My cousin is one. He is about 150 lbs and it sounds like he is bodyslamming when he walks around the house. Seems to think its perfectly okay. The glass in the windows shake (no joke..older house but still)

Meanwhile I'm 100 lbs more than him and don't make a sound when I walk.

I think I do that sometimes, but I don't make a habit out of it.

I walk on my tiptoes a lot when I'm outside actually, because I'm so short and my pants drag and I hate that so I try to give myself a little height, especially when the grounds wet....

No, all of my houses until now have been concrete, even the two story ones, so there was never any creaking.

No. Tile/carpet > *
I don't wear shoes at home either. No need getting all that dirty stuff in the house.
