My mom's a lefty, and in grade school they tried to convert her to being a righty, but it didn't work.

I can't write legibly with my left hand, so it might be possible to train myself to become a lefty, but it would take forever and my handwriting would probably always be pretty bad.

I can bat lefty and golf righty, but I can't bat righty or golf lefty. :p

hmm,
i can shoot a rifle/shotgun either hand
i can bowl either handed
i can print both, but, only write readable cursive right,
i can throw much further harder left handed,eg. baseball,
i can hit baseball better lefty, not as good right

There's also some research about lefties being more creative because it uses more of the right temporal lobe or something like that. I figure if I can learn to be lefty, my creative side will surface aas well. :p
I heard that being left handed was a mental defect???

they are generally smarter, but doe younger.

On a piano my left does as well as the right, but I can't write well with the left. Probably because you use both hands from the start on a piano, whereas you only use one hand in writing...same with typing and video games.

no I meant you start learning to type with both hands, same as piano or a game controller, thus both hands perform the same.

oh well then the controllers are different since it's not symmetrical... it's directinoal pad on one side and buttons on the other.

I'm right handed and just broke my right hand. I'm getting much better at typing one handed and using chopsticks. Still haven't tried writing yet.
