that's like asking if we believe in religion. Nice cover-up!

Anyway, my answer would have to be NO. Other than how we got here, I don't think there are "miracles" or "destiny". Getting back to "how we got here" being different - chicken or the egg...

Depends on what you mean. If you mean because of destiny then I say no but if you mean because of an action then obviously yes.

hmmm, no.... i wouldn't liken it to believing in God/religion.

i'm am asking it like you meet someone by chance and later that person becomes your best friend. well, you chance met that person for a reason. so when you look at something like that do you see things in your life happening and then later see that it happened for a reason.

You don't have to be religious to believe things happen for a reason, and vice versa. I don't think everything happens for a reason, but I am religious.

We Chinese have a saying "Our action makes things happen"
It's true whether you believe in religion or not

Miracles do sometime happen, but of course not often. If you want something to happen, you need to do it yourself and put effort in it.

Meeting someone by chance has no reason in it; But you deliberatly finding someone to be your friend is, and is affected by your action

Yes, everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is simply that you were born. But everything that happens occurs as a result of something else that happened. Every single thing that happens sets in motion some chain of events no matter how significant or seemingly insignificant those events. The only question is, what started it all? What was the first thing that EVER happened (like the big bang or something) and why? Everything that happened or will happen after that will be for some reason that is the consequence or effect of something else that happened or happens. Even your mere existence causes things to happen and is a happening in and of itself.

What do you classify a miracle to be?

Of course.

But probably not, in the context of this thread.

To me it's just a rationalization that make us feel better about things we cannot control.

things deffinitely happen for a reason its a matter of stopping to take the time to pull out the meaning. syncronicity.

Saying 'things happen for a reason' is a way of making sense of something that might be difficult to accept. When something happens to you, and you recognize that it has changed you in some way, you give that event meaning in your life. Was that change the reason for the event? We could argue that all day, but we each have to decide that for ourselves.

I'm actually a fatalist, I believe that things are all predestined to happen, and everything that will happen to you will happen to you. However, I don't believe that your fate can be told, foreseen, or in any way brought to anyone's knowledge, so I just live my life how I want to live it.

Pick a number.

Did you really pick it yourself? Or were you already destined to pick it? Who cares?

Everything that can happen, does happen in an alternative universe. We, in our universe, are merely living out one road of many infinite possibilities.
