Do you think they should end Daylight Savings time?

I see no purpose in it. I can't wait til it ends. We set our clocks back 1 hour on Oct 28 which means I will get an extra hour of sleep back. But I hate it in the Spring when we lose that hour.

I wish we could just stop doing this. When we have Daylight Savings Time, in reality I'm getting up 1 hour earlier than what I should be. It's not natural for my body.

The news TV or something like that said that daylight savings was put into effect to reduce electricity consumption. And the impact number quoted was 1% saving. People getting up in the morning didn't have to use as much electric light.

I can see where Texas being so flat wouldn't need daylight savings time. But out west where there are a lot of mountains it can make a difference.

I'd rather they ended Standard time. The daylight in the evening is more useful then the morning.

Exactly, I love it. Some extra light in the evening is great. I prefer extra evening light than morning light.

I don't mind DST as much as I mind this dumb AM/PM way of telling time. Why not get with the program and use military time, like most or all of Europe is doing? I was born and raised in Europe, and military time is incredibly convenient. You don't have to worry about AM/PM, and your conversation partner immediately knows what time of day you're talking about.
Another thing that bugs me, and this is now totally off-topic, is the "American" measuring system... WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE METRIC SYSTEM?

Sometimes America does dumb things. :-/

Get rid of it. Switch to metric too :)

Wish they would leave it one way or the other. Changing time twice a year is a waste of time.

What do you mean, what's wrong with America?? We like our measuring system, and DST. Metric sucks! Why doesn't Europe switch?

I hate it and see no purpose in it. Most people are grouchy for two week after the time change

Daylight savings sucks. makes me change all the clocks in the house and i still get up and go to bed the same regardless of the time.

what i hate is the american way of writing the date. what is this month/day/year crap? everyone else uses day/month/year except us. using the numerical date system, this gets very confusing and i always have to look for an additional reference to be sure that 09/10 is 10 sept and not 09 oct. i couldn't give sh!t about whether we use the metric system or not because conversions are easy but this date bs messes with me all the time.

Another original consideration for DST was so that school children were not waiting along busy highways early in the morning in the dark.......

Move to Hawaii and you don't have to bother with it. Now since I live in the mainland again I have to change my clocks, grrrr. I guess its a trade off.

Or Move to Indiana or Arizona. Neither state observes Daylight savings. Of course 2x a year you switch time zones, and that's kinda annoying.
