PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) – Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg updated his status to "married" on Saturday.

Zuckerberg and 27-year-old Priscilla Chan tied the knot at a small ceremony at his Palo Alto, Calif., home, capping a busy week for the couple.

Zuckerberg took his company public in one of the most anticipated stock offerings in Wall Street history Friday. And Chan graduated from medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, on Monday, the same day Zuckerberg turned 28.

The couple met at Harvard and have been together for more than nine years.

A source authorized by the couple to speak said Zuckerberg designed the ring featuring "a very simple ruby."

The ceremony took place in Zuckerberg's backyard before fewer than 100 guests, who all thought they were there to celebrate Chan's graduation.

he has too much money to "take care of her" if the situation arises... I don't recall hearing any of these top 20 30 people ever actually getting divorced
 
I realize that they were dating before he got rich, but I wonder if there was ever a time when she thought of breaking up but didn't because he has so much money.
 
Prenups dont matter. Every state in the union lets you argue them in court, and with a good enough lawyer you can override them.
And for a multibillion dollar empire you better believe they'd both have armies of scum sucking bastards ready to fight for them.

California is especially guilty of screwing the man over
 
Oregon is worse.
Its a pretty ultra lib state but their marital laws are very old fashioned with regards to taking care of divorced women.
Doesnt matter if she was caught having a drunken orgy with her kids teachers, she will get full custody and a fat alimony every single time. She pretty much has to die in order for the judge to even consider letting the father get anything.

I'm surprised people put up with that.

I wouldn't marry a gold digger, and I would always make sure that my kids were provided for, no matter what...but if for some bizarre reason I ended up divorced with a huge alimony payment to a cheating wife, I would stop paying, skip the country, and send her pictures every year of me flipping her off with a beautiful tropical beach behind me.
 
All the mystery surrounding the wedding is ironic considering he made all his money invading peoples' privacy.

I say good for him. He married someone he had been with before he got rich. He didn't just marry some money hungry bimbo.
