dollar wont collapse

we may have some inflation but I seriously doubt the dollar will fall as a currency in the US. Maybe if we had hyperinflation for a few years then its possible but we havnt even seen anything out of the ordinary

there would have to be some seriously bad economic conditions that would warrant a new currency for the dollar to fall, even if you replaced the currency you still have the underlying factors that caused the collapse to deal with too

Once the dollar becomes so low manufacturing will pick up and tourism will also pick up, raising the dollars value. Its a cyclical event.

Not going to happen. Ever heard of buying low? Now that US currency is so cheap, it's bound to go back up. Foreign investors know this and will convert foreign currencies into dollars when the dollar looks ripe to rise again (around November I'd bet)

We haven't hit the bottom yet. 2008 is going to be a really tough year for a lot of people, but it's by no means the end. We've seen much worse economic crises in the past for much longer lengths of time. We haven't entered a depression (and probably won't get to that state).

this isnt a collapse... much like the housing industry...

the dollar is undergoing a correction after years of unsustainable overvalue.

Just do what I do, save every penny you can find. When the dollar collapses, scrap them all for profit (or to break even).

theres the key right there, and thats why im investing heavily, >30% in "distressed" financials. people are too damn emotional and the media is too damn sensational "O TITS A RECESSION!" just makes me more $ in the long run.
