Yes I've been on several forums and this is by far the most tolerant one. Don't see the kind of ego trips of mods that are common some other places.

Now when it comes to fixing bugs, that is another matter. The search on tapatalk has been broken for months and repeated appeals have gone nowhere :-(

Member since Nov 2013. That tells you enough. You haven't seen what's gone down here.

Shower cunts

This should be reported. 'wise and beautiful woman' is on the secret ****** list. You can't say that word. According to, like, one or two mods.

Which, as been thoroughly suggested already, is pretty much the problem. A select few mods are whiny, butthurt, oversensitive children.

Who got banned on anadtech 50 years ago dumbass?

Anandtech has been around since 1968 when it ran on an GE system running MULTICS.

You would get on via ASR-33 terminals.

The first ban was that troll who made an ASCII middle finger wasting a bunch of ink anytime some one would log on.

There were two events that I thought were really detrimental to the community. The first was the banning of theflyingpig and second would be the bannings that happened after people browsed the open mod forums (Mosh and crew).

The open mod forum bans were complete bullshit by the way. If a tech website can't even manage a simple bbs, then those in charge shouldn't be in charge.

Plus the damn teletype would run for twenty minutes. Sounded like a light machine gun.

The mods? No. The admins? Yes.

You have one admin who is insane. He has severe self confidence issues that cause him to feel threatened by everyone. Since he has power, he feels he must destroy anyone who threatens him. Those who expose him are banned.

Then another admin has decided that we need a dedicated forum troll. This admin will modify and delete posts to cover up the troll's actions. They will even ban members who talk back to the troll. There is some kind of relationship between these two, but that has not yet been proven.

Then you have another admin who feels they must defend the first two admins. What is right, what is wrong, what if truth and what is fiction make no difference. This admin must defend the others. Unlike the first two, this one has no spine.

Then you have the new recruits of admins. I don't fault these ones for not having the balls to stand up to the others. But still, they stand by and watch it happen and then say "well it wasn't me who did it". Right, but it was the admin crew as a whole. And you are a part of that crew.

This is supposedly a tech forum but its ran by people who have no clue about technology. OK. Well they were chosen for their fairness and clear heads, right? No. Well then....then......

Then now you have a tech forum that is a haven for trolls and people with severe mental illness. It is no longer a community. It is no longer "a pub if you will". Its a shithole plain and simple.

I'm a moderator on a popular Honda forum. We get our share of spammers and jerks too. We try not to ban without at least one or two warnings (depending on the infraction). Instead we try to help and give suggestions. If we see an infraction, we private message the person to edit his post to come in to compliance (or we do it for him). We don't rule with an iron fist and our users tend to like the moderators. I could not imagine anyone posting a thread such as:

Do you think the mods have ruined the forums?

On my forum such a thread would certainly grab the administrator’s attention and re-evaluate all the moderators. I only wonder how many people are afraid to even post anything in this thread for fear of reprisal from the mods. What a shame for the moderators and the board as a whole.

Well said. Anand simply doesn't give a shit so they do what they want and let their megalomania rule them.

Thing is I've been on tons of forums over the years and ran my own as well. It is like this everywhere. Anytime you have a group of people expressing opinions tempers flare. Quicker because the anonymity. Even on my wifes quilting forums there are women calling for blood on occasion. They can be just as vile there as here. You just have to roll with it and weed out or ignore the worst of the problem children. At some point all of us that actively participate are that problem child. Admins and Mods are people too with the same quirks. I wouldn't expect them to act any differently.

Mods are always bad and anybody who wants me to not behave like a complete and total as swipe is infringing my rights.

What if AT did something like Guru3d and banned war threads and many political threads? And Guru3d has no political forum, just one off topic forum and the rest are technical forums. Ok that’s not feasible but it's an idea I guess. Anyway here is the post at Guru3d giving reasons for removing and banning many political threads:

OK, you've all had your say.

The mod bashing thread will now close.

You have complaints that go above and beyond the admins and mods, take them to Anand.
