Forums are democratic by nature. Just like a democracy, only as good or bad as the general population.

Yet here you are bitching about the administration, publicly, and the response of the mods has been to engage in casual conversation. This is not what oppression looks like.

Are you living in fucking fantasy land? This forum is about as non-democratic as it gets.
I did not mean in administrative sense. Just like everyone gets to vote in a democracy, everyone can say whatever they like on a forum.

The mods are really trigger happy with the bans/points. A lot of times they lock threads because their trolldar is overly sensitive. But then again you have whiners here who love to snitch/complain to mods over every little thing.

I love the mods here. They inspire joy joy feelings to those around them.

Mods did not . But some of them didn't deserve to be mods at all IMHO.

Allowing people of low intelligence to sign in a tech forum ruined it. I think it began 10 years ago, then it became downhill from that point on. ATOT will never be the same.

Forums in general have been dying, from what I've been observing lately. Plenty of people deciding, that forums are for young people, and they can't be arsed once they get family and a real job to stick around. Anti-social bastards :D

I guess it depends. I am on a tennis forum that has been thriving for years, and still is. Both quantity and quality wise. But then tennis fans do tend to be the more intellectual and thoughtful types :)

Some of the mods are really cool and add a lot to the discussions here. It does annoy me that some are so quick to lock threads where people are having fun (parody and necro threads). Some discussions are meant to be revived.

Just because some people get off by pointing out every necro doesn't mean it has to be locked. Let it live or die again on its own.

i liked it better when they were this:

...Anonymous.jpg...

Add these two together with a sprinkling of Ichinisan's comment expanded to include it being okay if you have a second thread on a particular subject.

you get awesomness

The mods here are pretty good compared to other places.

The banning of TFP was unforgivable though.

I've been noticing that lately. A lot of places will just disappear comments that the administration doesn't like, and whoever's in charge will take things in whatever direction they feel like while barely paying lip service to community opinion. Our problems are generally pretty small when compared to crap like that.

Yes I've been on several forums and this is by far the most tolerant one. Don't see the kind of ego trips of mods that are common some other places.

Now when it comes to fixing bugs, that is another matter. The search on tapatalk has been broken for months and repeated appeals have gone nowhere :-(

I think the mods here are very fair.

Well except for the time they didn't allow someone to use a picture of Linus for an avatar

(obv expressing his opinion that linux is #1)
