Do you think The Matrix Trilogy is a political movie?

Yes. It was about agents of the government running a virtual plantation. Not too far off base from where we are now.

Yup. How much more religious can you get than Neo sacrificing himself to save humanity? Not to mention the "miracles" and reviving the dead. I didn't see it as very political.

The other Waichowski (sp) Bros. movie, V For Vendetta, is all politics.

Not with regards to the current political party in control . . .

The Oracle is never right and The Architect is a moron.

Edit: Oh yeah, the opposition is almost entirely ineffective.

Political? Eh, not really. Horrible(after the first one), oh yeah. Worst sequels ever.......

I never understood why people rail on them so much. They are still decent movies, pretty far above the popcorn BS that hollywood releases these days.

It is a political movie regarding the politics of 8th century Mayan civilization, focusing on the events surrounding the Manazur incident.

The interesting thing about the Matrix, in my opinion, was that everybody's real life was a dream and only the nut-case hated were actually real. I fine it interesting, because this is just so different from how our world is. There is no red pill. No way, Jose.

Actually, the political theme I was referring to has to do with freedom

Yes the freedom of the third world, and people in indirectly indebted servitude.

Moonbeam always interjects his ridiculousness. Its better suited to OT though.

The freedom of the Mayans against the alien-assisted Churaczans? Why don't you tell us your opinion?

Well then you probably haven't been around the world.

The Matrix creators have a certain bent to their movies and V for Vendetta simply proves this.

There is also a lot of Hindu and Buddhist philosophy involved but really... thats just too complicated.

It was a money making movie and that is about the extent of it. If you want to read further, go ahead, but all in all the Matrix trilogy was about $$$.

Actually, I don't acknowledge that there are 3 movies. I am fairly sure that 2 and 3 were supposed to be one single feature, but the lure of a money-making trilogy was too much to bear for the Wachowsky brothers.

Yeah, they were both completed at the same time.
