I can't believe you like this over ER NFS4...

I'm sorry dude, but it is actually INTERESTING rather than the same tired crap being recycled over and over on E.R.

I watched the premier episode and... it sux. Sorry, it was just too "slow" for me (and not really interesting enough).

Of course it's going to be slow. Do you think that they are going to spell out EVERYTHING in the first episode? It has to build to the conclusion. It's not a movie, it's a series.

If all you wanted was interesting, there's also:

Threshold
Invasion
Supernatural

What makes this show so special ? When I first saw it, the only thing it had going for it was the big production. And I've been watching every episode and growing tired of that storyline with "Nim".

About ER, they're in a hospital. What are they recycling that they shouldn't ? Emotions are a big part of the show. I'm really trying hard not to be argumentative but last time you stated:

E.R. is so damn lame now. They are trying to make this episode match the old one from the first season where Dr. Greene misses the preeclampsia. Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame
with the baby ? She just didn't want the C-section... what do you mean ?

They're trying to make this episode tug at the strings like that one one did back in '95. Ain't gonna happen.
 I still can't make the connection between the 2 situations other than it's supposed to be emotional (like every other episode)...

So is the biologist chick for that matter...

What's there to be confused about? That's exactly what I'm talking about. They're trying too hard to make E.R. like it was back in the old days. That quote that you have of me is from an episode a few weeks ago. As I said, they tried to set the same mood as when Dr. Greene screwed the pooch on the diagnosis in Season 1 leading to the mother's death during child birth. It wasn't exactly the same, but you could tell that they were overhamming it up trying to get the same effect.

They are just trying TOO hard. I don't see how ANYONE can say that any episode of E.R. today is a match for any up until Dr. Ross left (save for that lame episode where Benton went into hick country).

How about the episode in the convenience store where Hathaway is being held hostage by Ewen McGreggor and his brother? Or the episode where Doug brings in the chick that overdosed? Or the episode where you find out that Gant jumped in front of the train? Hell, even the episode where Carter punches Benton, then Benton hugs him and flies to rehab with him.

There is NONE of that anymore. Nothing memorable. There is NOTHING memorable about E.R. anymore. Nothing that stands out. It's just another TV show now. I can't think of any "great" episodes in the last 2-3 years.

^ Compared to all the memorable things that's happened on Surface ?

I agree ER is not what it used to be - that's not the point - this Surface show is laughable at this point... they got a couple decent chicas, an animal named Nimrod running loose in some no-life-kid's house for 5 episodes now ? This 43-minute episode he gets out and the two kids are arguing about its name no less than 3 times. Oh and the big monster that moved another 50 miles this week.

Sorry, if you're complaining about an undramatic show like ER, you shouldn't be complimenting Surface.

It's not laughable. It's just running its course. I've been following it closely and it actually grabs my attention. The show doesn't take itself too seriously and that's the whole point.

Should I call SRS?

Okay, in tonights episode when that hot marine biologist and that other guy were tracking the monster thing....

They hopped in his SUV, almost forgot her kid - went back for him right? Well, when they got to the dock to film the monster, where was the kid? Did they leave him in the vehicle? The next scene was hours later and they were still on the dock, so....where is the kid? Did I miss something? Did they drop him off somewhere before?

Godzilla, with EMP. Might be good, but so far the high points were a bunch of dead whales and a kid(s) having an ET experience.

When she was getting him to the truck she said something about dropping him off at his father's.

I was going to take back that statement, but you've already quoted on me.. Still, I take it back :p

I watched it again this evening (they did a very good "previously... on Surface" bit) and I loved every minute of it. I'll try to remind myself to watch it again next week. Now it's really getting better!

I've watched all the episodes so far, and I like it a lot, I just find it interesting for some reason. I'm also interested to see how they're going to spread it out over a whole season (or more) though, as someone else said...it does seem like somewhat of a miniseries. But for now, I keep looking forward to each successive episode, which makes it a pretty good show in my book. I should set up my HDTV tuner to record it weekly now while I'm thinking about it...

what did that russian guy say at the end of the last ep when the girl said "why should i work for you after what you've done to me?"

i kept rewinding and all i could make out is "because you will be in prison for history" - but that makes no sense? anyone understand his stupid accent?

I don't think I heard anything about "prison" or "history"...though I didn't understand a word he said at that point either. And I rewound at least once or twice in an attempt to hear what he said...oh well. I would have turned on closed captioning, but the cable company here doesn't pass along the CC data for HDTV broadcasts, that I've seen.
