The only way I see IE losing its grip on the market is if something catastrophic happens to it.
Like someone discovers an inherent security flaw in IE that has allowed millions of people to have their identities stolen. Or if they simply had a release that was horribly buggy and unusable.

Something like that would cause people to flock to other browsers.

I use Firebird mostly on my laptop where its much faster than IE (I don't know why...Duron chip quirk probably...) but on the big rig at home I now use IE exclusively (with Google Toolbar 2.0 popup blocker) because some pages just don't work right on Firebird (mostly stuff with scripts.)

They had a question about Linux on a UK quiz show, and the people on it didn't have a clue, but they were all over 40 and in careers not relating to computing.

They had an article about Netscape going the way of the Dodo on Yahoo today. I don't think anyone can stand up to the behemoth that is Microsoft.

Yes. IE + CrazyBrower front end has Tabbed Browsing and Popup Blocking and all the good features of IE Monopoly^H^H^HCompatibility.

I liked the style sheets stuff for Netscape Phoenix, was cool how you can setup to block ads on leftside of page w/ it ... but browser was a bit too different for me. I'm not inclined to change for that one feature.
