The real answer to your question is: What girl? I didn't see any girl... well except you.

Ha ha! Your GF is cool.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LOL, she also knows how to build computers, which I'm sure makes her highly desirable to a lot of guys here. ;)

Heck, she even endured 29743273 trips to Home Depot while I built my watercooling system. She's a keeper... :p

NO, I'm not gonna post any pics!!! HAHA. (I can already see that coming)

Upon further thought of this, I think that girls ask that question because they're not confident. They either want you to say something about how they're so much better than the rest, or get in a fight.

Print out your first post and show it to her. Explain the situation to her, show her your quandary, and ask her what you should do. Explain how she's pushing you into these corners. Then she gets to realize what moron she's being, hopefully.

haha...yeah I'm sure you'll REALLY have something to argue about when she asks you why you post information about your relationship to a group of mostly strangers on the Internet

If I even GLANCED @ another woman when I was with my last lady friend, the fight was ON!!
It got so bad that I would stare at the ground everywhere I went so as not to set her off.

I'm sure she had very low self esteem (having been married 3 times before I met her) or maybe she was just WHACKED, I'm not sure.

She WAS fine though, she was a runner and did sit-ups every morning and was in GREAT shape.

In the end though, she had me convinced that NO woman would EVER want me because I "stared" at other women.

10 years later, and I'm STILL gun shy.

BTW: The next time she does it. Start screaming and run away waving your hands in the air and pulling out your hair. Then she what she says!

If I say "yea, she's pretty"
it ends up being an argument
That's a problem

It sounds like she's insecure, placing too much on looks. Next time she gets defensive about it, or says "don't make me feel better", simply say you're stating what you think. If a girl looks good, she looks good. Does that mean she'd make a better GF? No, so I hope your girl doesn't react as so.

i have found these techniques useful for dealing with people asking me questions i don't want to answer.

if asked a question you don't really want to answer respond instead with "why do you ask?"

when they answer you question, you then respond with "very good!"

these are techniques to deflect a question without appearing defensive or obnoxious, and you reply instead with a bland, positive response that cannot easily be criticised or viewed as hostile.

try it

you'll be amazed

requires discipline to remember to use it.

You respond with a scale that goes from "kind of" to "nah, not at all" and typically follow with something along the lines of "do you think I love you just because of how pretty you are, sure, I noticed, but there's a lot more than that to you". It actually worked with a very insecure girlfriend I once had... was constatntly asked that question. She also liked to point out the slutty dressed women to which I had to respond with "yep, she'd better use her body now while she's young because there's not much else to go on."

either say 'she'd get it' she will soon stop asking you then, or 'yeah shes pretty nice' and if necessary, 'but you are... (better)'

That's the way women compete. She's not asking you for a yes or no answer. She's asking you to be critical of that woman.

You should say, "Well she's pretty but she should seriously pluck her eyebrows..." or something like that. She's looking for a criticism of that woman... just make some crap up.. that's what I do...

Best answer - act indifferent and say "Objectively, I suppose she's above average but she's not really my type"

Make sure your girlfriend knows what objectively means

Say, "Oh no, not this time. I'm not playing this fscking game with you. There is no right answer that wont get us in a fight, so stop asking me this question."

Why are guys so afraid to speak their mind? Here you come to a message board, and tell STRANGERS how she's playing you like a fiddle, but you can't tell her?

Simple answer that I use in that situation.

"She's not bad, but she is nowhere near as good looking as you"

works like a charm.

the real answer is...
her: "Do you think she's pretty?"
you: "pretty? I don't know, I was just thinking she looks like the girl that works at the speedboat dealership"
her: "What the hell were you doing at a speedboat dealership?"
you: *steers conversation away from the girl*

:D

My wife is normal. She doesn't trap me. If she asks if I think a girl's pretty, I tell her yes, that girl is pretty. And then Mrs. Hoober says, "I think so, too." Or, "I'm not so sure." And then we move on with our lives. Your girlfriend doesn't sound so secure with herself.
