I'm wondering if each subsequent generation is taught more only to pass tests rather than how to think through situations and solve problems.
It seems that kids today (increasingly in the past few decades, really) are taught from a broader array of subjects, but with less focus on the basics and less time is spent on critical thinking and reading comprehension.
