And, uhh, so what? Was what he said not true? Is he not less vulnerable to Repub back stabbing & obstructionism? Does he not have greater freedom to deal with the Russians in a mutually advantageous way?

Which is a total red herring in the context of this discussion, isn't it? Killing Al-Awlaki created deficits, or what?

Cut spending where, exactly? Should we cut spending to force layoffs to vanquish unemployment? Or cut pervasive Red State Welfare, leave the well being of Mississippi's poor people to the tender ministrations of their local financial elite? Cut the military, quit buying massive quantities of cold war hardware, close some of the bajillion overseas bases in places like Germany & Japan?

Righties loved the Romney plan, the don't ask for details plan, because it was so wonderfully vague & so wonderfully appealing at an emotional level. It pushed all their buttons, stroked their erroneous zones in a most pleasant way, as all right wing pablum is designed to do. When we return to reality, all they want is to beat down poor people so that people who don't need more money can have more, so that they can worship at the altar of greed, revere the high priests of the Plutocracy. You exemplify that.

I am not a romney supporter though

Presidents create budgets? News to me!

Even if they did(which they don't), the republicans refuse to touch the most insane military in the world or raise taxes(or even let TEMPORARY ones expire!).

Neither party will touch the military, doing that removes the 20 foot penis we wave at other countries to get them to "fall in line". The Democrats may talk the talk but its all bullshit, they like being able to bomb countries as much as Republicans do. Those 4million$+ drones Obama loves to use in Pakistan would be lost to if we ever cut the military. Plus with a small military our ability to control foreign oil via "regime" changes is pretty much gone. China could take our place at that point [which would not be good].

The Republicans are to blame just as much because they keep sending him all of these bills for him to sign.

I guess we're just fucked and we better start rationally looking for a new country to live in legally if we want to pursue happiness.

Increasing deficits will hurt the middle class and the poor more than the wealthy. Gubment can't divy up oppurtunity or wealth, it can work to minimize corruption and abuses of power (something it's on the wrong side of currently).

Obama legitamately cares about and wants the best for the middle class and the poor. Obama has a lot to learn, I expect hubris won't get in his way.

Deficits will be down to 2-4 hundred billion by the time he's out and entitlement programs will be reformed.

It is NOT Obama`s job to balance the budget......we have both houses that need to work together.

Nope. We've been doing budget sims all semester in school.
Its damn near impossible to balance things unless you make massive cuts to programs AND raise taxes, its impossible. And nobody wants to be the bad guy, so it will never happen.

I don't often agree with shortylickens, but when I do he's exactly right.

LMAO! Meme gramatical fail. And to think Democrats/liberals are supposed to have higher intelligence.

But it got a rise out you and your fellow Rightists so then like GWB said "Mission Accomplished"! ;)

Um, no rise. We just saw it was from you and laughed, like we always do at your sub-moronic posts. Now go back to doing what you do best - felating your Obama blow-up doll.

Partially correct. The president can propose a budget to congress and he can work with congress during the budget process; ultimately, the president will sign a budget, making him equally responsible with congress for said budget. But as a general rule, you're correct. The House is supposed to draft and approve a budget then send it on to the Senate. The Senate makes its proposed modifications then the two houses work out the differences, or in this day and age, do everything in their power to politicize everything and demonize the opposition. I honestly doubt we'll have a budget over the next 4 years. We'll just float from stop-gap spending bill to stop-gap spending bill.

Even if Obama gets his way and we raise taxes on whitey, we won't generate anywhere near enough revenue to make a significant dent in the deficit as the dems won't cut social spending. And anyone who thinks Obamacare isn't gonna blow the budget is an idiot.

I think he'll probably get below 1 trillion dollar deficits because that's what's projected. I don't think he'll get below Bush's average deficit though.
