Here is what I am looking at right now:

Thermaltake Armor Series VA8000BWS - Zipzoomfly - $125
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 - Newegg - $311.00
Asus P5B-E - Zipzoomfly - $157.00
eVGA 256-P2-N554-AX e-Geforce 7600 GT KO 256MB - Zipzoomfly - $120.00
NEC 7170A-0B OEM - Newegg.com - $35.00
OCZ OCZ520ADJSLI PowerStream 520W - Zipzoomfly - $95.00
orsair (2x1GB) XMS 2 Dominator TWIN2X2048-6400C4D 4-4-4-12 - Zipzoomfly - $273.00
Scythe SCINF-1000 Infinity - Newegg - $57.99
Artic Silver 5 - Newegg - $5.99
Total $1179.95

I could also go with the Conroe E6400 for $1087.45.

Also, I hope to OC either chip to 3.6 GHz.

Please tell me if you think there are any problems with my setup.

I am also looking for a good fan to replace the Scythe one with. I am very open to suggestions.

Please let me know if there is anything you would swap out or anything I am missing (Besides a monitor and a hard drive, both of which I already have.

I am buying within a couple weeks, so hopefully some prices will go down between now and the time I will buy. (Waiting till the day after Thanksgiving)

As far as the graphics card goes, I really only play a few EA games and GTA San Andreas so I really shouldn't need the best card out there.

I am kinda sketchy as far as RAM and Motherboard go. I would really appreciate suggestions reguarding those two parts, and any part for that matter.

I AM REALLY WANT SUGGESTIONS. IF YOU HAVE A COMMENT OR SUGGESTION, PLEASE MAKE ONE.

P5B-e is limited to 2.1 vdimm unless you get the 1.02 revision.

That means you're fine for most RAM OCing, but not really heavy OCing.

Well, If I am purchasing a P5B-E in a week or less, isnt it going to be a revision 1.02?

Is going from 2.4 to 3.6 heavy OCing?

Yes.

2.4 to 3.2 GHz is very normal.

2.4 to anything over 3.4 = alot more luck + skill required.

That being said, you shouldn't need to worry about vdimm too much, as you only need DDR2-800 speeds for 3600 MHz, or if you drop to the lower 8x multi, then DDR2-900.

And i don't think that Corsair will have much trouble running that @ 2.1V.

My D9s do 1063 24/7 with only 2.1V, so i imagine the Dominators won't be too far behind.

I think you'll make it if you work at it. I had a so-so E6600 and got to 3.6 after lapping the CPU and HSF. It really is a crap shoot with the CPUs. Your setup looks fine.

If you go for the Scythe Infinity, there is a simple mod to use screws instead of the pin mount. Hightly recommended! It is in the XS forum, in a post called "How to Modify the Scythe Infinity Mounting System for Optimum Mounting Pressure".

Good luck!
