In your pathetic attempt to make your argument you went to a ridiculous extreme.

Let's try this again for the simple minds out there:

If someone supports you, they get to tell you how to live. If you refuse, they cut you off and no longer support you. If you choose the support, you give up your freedom.

It's that simple. You can protest it all you like, you can deny it all you like... but it wont change a damn thing.

A parent may have a legal obligation to care for their child, but their child gives up most freedoms in the process. The parent has total control over their lives. Any parent who chooses not to use this control is negligent to say the least.

Do you even read my replies? Are you paying attention. Do you not understand that I am not advocating Goku's cause. I have said many times I do not agree with his point. All I was doing is disagreeing with the statement I quoted. Go re-read my post before you decide to bash me.

I'm arguing on topic. And Goku's statement said nothing of abuse, only of that subjective thing called "reasonable." (Most teens find ALL their parent's rules "unreasonable.")

Does this mean that you cannot purchase a Jeep, a Dodge truck or a Chrysler car? These are all part of the DaimlerChrysler company which has a headquarter in Stuttgard Germany.

I think the Holocaust and the Rape of Nanjing would probably twist your mind to be prejudice if you were in that situation. Some people overcome it, but some people when faced with the systematic torture, rape, murder, and mutilation of their loved ones in front of their eyes by one nationality can skew anyones thinking a little. Of course, I feel sorry for those people and their mentallity is wrong and will only cause them more grief by making them a prison of their own hate, but I do understand how they came to that prejudice.

That's almost as ridiculous as Americans not buying Japanese cars because of the "atrocities they committed on Pearl Harbor in WWII."

If there were any cars made in arab countries sold in the US, I bet they'd have taken a hit in sales after 9/11.

Has Japan ever apologized for the atrocities commited against Americans, Koreans and Chinese? I thought that's why Koreans are still pissed at them, because they haven't apologized.

I understand what you're saying but it makes no sense to make such decisions with resentment about events that didn't happen in our lifetime.

I'm not American, but if I was, why wouldn't I drive a Japanese car? They're great... reliable, has its bang-for-your-buck, they look nice, are fast, etc. Being old-minded and backwards is not the way to be. Why make your life worse by going out of your way to make your life worse? That's what enemies want when they attack somebody, they want to make your life worse.

That's why most of the Americans who refuse to drive Japanese cars because of WWII are really old. ;)

It's a little different for jews since they wanted to wipe out their entire race and all that... And although Germany today is not the Germany of 60 years ago, the German car companies did help the war effort. I don't know how I'd feel if I were Jewish, but I can see how especially an older Jewish person could feel that way.

At least the Germans admitted that they committed the Holocaust, and apologized and payed reperations, etc. Howbout the Armenian Genocide? I'm half Armenian, and am apalled by what the Turkish Government is doing right now - DENYING it. How the hell could you DENY something like that, with all the evidence?! It's just like up to today if the German Government said "what Holocaust? The Germans didn't do anything..."

(I'll express my opinion on this once the flamers come and go)

It's his money, he can do what he wants to with it.

Yes, that's very unreasonable, and it represents a malicious generalization of the same kind that has been made upon our own people for millenia. It also represents ignorance of the nature of totalitarianism; once that chain of events have been set in motion, it is virtually impossible to break out of from within; you can't blame the German people or German industry for falling into line, when to not fall into line puts one's life, liberty, and property into mortal peril.

My Grandpa refuses to buy anything but American cars. He keeps them for 15 years though, so it isn't as if he has a real impact on the market.

Goku, how old are you? in most of your threads you sound like a 13 year old but others are talking about adult things.

 And you're not a stalker eh? I find you extremely amusing, keep at it, you're actually kind of funny. :p  Man, you're so ridiculous that that is what makes you funny! Are you funny as well in the sense that you can do standup too? Or are you funny and you don't realize it? Seriously though, chill out, take a chill pill and chill, just because I complain about certain things (btw some of those weren't complaints but quesitons), it doesn't mean what I type has a butt load of angst backed behind it, filling up in my intestines or anything.

just sit back and wait for the old man to kick the bucket...buy whatever car you want with the inheritance...that is unless your non-dsl sister shafts you on your share of the loot...

goku, you should have let this thread die. :( sad to say by responding to this, you have just added to your equivalence to RyanSengara.

No one is disputing that your father's prejudices are a bit ignorant, but it is his money and he can do whatever he wants with it.

I'm white, my Father-In-Law is white...everyone in my family is white.

This is because of Pearl Harbor/WWII.
