Do you think ipad resell prices will be really high after launch?

You overestimate Applefags. They will sell out.

I'm interested to know why you chose to use the term "Applefags". Is it because your bigotry forces you to append the word "i love you" to anything you want to make derogatory? Is it because you think all Apple users are gay, and therefore feel the need to call them "fags"? Please tell me, I must know.

Gay people drive a Prius and Apple lovers drive a Prius. Hence Apple lovers are gay. Everyone knows this.

TFP is being out-TFPed. Weird.

Anyway, regardless of the fact that the iPad is a giant iPhone, I don't think it's going to be that bad a 1st gen tablet from Apple. I think this product doesn't have as great mass appeal as Apple's other products, but then again neither do tablet PCs (not at this price - in the future, when the tablet format is cheaper, I can imagine widespread use).

So while this might be a relative commercial flop, the iPad definitely has potential down the line. I kinda want one myself right now, but I'm going to wait for solid reviews.

And to answer the OP, I think initial resale prices might be 20% above the Apple store prices.

Hmmm, bump eh?

The popularity of this junk just reaffirms my previous theory.
Steve could take a fat dump into a shiny white plastic box, slap an Apple logo on it and sell the fucker for 10 billion dollars. In fact after the first one he wouldnt even need his shit, he could have crazy homeless dudes pay him a dollar each for the privilege of shitting into plastic boxes. The apple fanboys would still tell you about how superior Steves shit is to everyone elses.

Apple could shit in a bag, make it the most expensive shit in a bag to ever hit market, and people would still camp out for it. It doesn't matter that it's just shit in a bag. It's Apple's shit in a bag.

*EDIT* LOL Shorty you beat me to it. 😛

i believe it'll sell well when it launches (lol sheep) but 3 or so months later the resale market will be flooded because people will have realized that its a POS and prices will tank. Even apple fanboys can see that its not that great of a product. its over priced and underpowered

I'm waiting for the Microsoft Courier myself. I was impressed with the concept demos. Already got an iPhone.

I don't think demand for these things is as high as people think it is. I don't think it's a bad product, just extremely underwhelming. Harks back to the stuff Apple put out during the Jobsian interregnum.

Until someone finds a killer app for this thing, it's really only useful as a color eBook reader or as a video player for obscenely overpriced videos from iTunes.

That's enough to get the Apple fanboys excited, I guess. I'll wait for version 2 myself.

So the posters that say its the digital equivalent of dogshit cant imagine a world where this thing sells like crazy and changes computing forever?

I mean if Im wrong, you-all can point at me an laugh, anyone want to go on record that its going to be a Newton like failure for Apple?

As far as killer apps, saw one yesterday that made me realize Ill have to buy one for my daughter... Sheet music that turns itself...

I think it's the digital equivalent of dogshit, but I CAN imagine a world where it sells like crazy and changes computing.

It's dogshit because Apple left out important features, but they'll probably get it right on the second or third generation.

I'm thinking about buying a couple to resell to toolbags who will indeed pay a high markup

Those people had weeks to pre-order an iPad. And you know there will be a lot of other toolbags like you who pre-ordered them to resell.

lol. Your lack of vision is the reason why you will always be mediocre. Everyone knows this.

Nice with the personal attack. Continuing on, it seems that most everyone else agrees with me.

If they were to somehow make this thing useful, that would be great. But as of now, it's just a big iphone/ipod touch that you can't really take with you anywhere. Unless you want to carry it in a bag, which means you may as well just grab your damn laptop.

And I already have an iphone that does everything this silly item does. Plus cell phone.
