Do you think having a hot shower before bed would improve quality of sleep?

On the other hand hot showers are supposed to be bad for your skin--hot water dries it out. That's not a problem for me because I sleep in a hogshead of pig fat.

Some argue that showers before bed make you relax and sleep more deeply. I'm not going to argue that.

I will argue, however, that I don't feel like taking a shower twice a day (unusual circumstances notwithstanding), and I require a shower before anyone outside of my residence sees me.

I shower in the evening anyway. If I happen to not have time right before or after dinner, then I wait until I'm about to go to bed (but only if I have like an hour to do nothing so that my hair can dry a bit)

I can tell you first hand that it makes a huge difference. When I go to sleep without taking a shower first, the feel of the blanket doesn't feel as good and causes me to toss and turn.

Nope. Your body temperature drops a couple of degrees when you sleep. So it will take longer for you to fall into a deep sleep.

Well said... I agree.

I like most asians shower before bed. The thing that keeps me up is brushing my teeth, I think it has to do with something in the toothpaste.

But here is a question for people who shower in the morning, do you at least wash your feet before climbing into bed? and what about hot summer days when you work up a small sweat from just getting out of the car?

Helps me. Also have problems waking up in the middle of the night if I haven't showered, especially if I haven't washed my hair, so I pretty much have to. Also, to help prevent acne you need to wash your face twice a day anyway.

I'm a registered sleep tech. (RPSGT)
pretty much it's a subjective thing. if it helps YOU sleep then do it. I know some people say it helps others say it doesn't
