What say guys?
Also give proper reasons instead of just yes or no.

I say yes because i think it'll make the experience much better and closer to the real world.

Need to supply context. In what sense ? Wandering the streets where you can run them over or shoot at them ? Or just part of the general story ?

It's unnecessary, that's why it's done that way.
They can use the maximum amount of violence and not have to worry about the moms out there.

If you're a shitty parent that lets his kids play Mature rated games you have no business complaining about sex or violence in said games. Fuck those people.

There's no reason to include kids. If you make them killable, you run afoul of every politician on Earth and you get legislation cracking down on video games. If you don't make them killable, it ruins the immersion. There's no conceivable reason that I'd want to see children included in a game where I gleefully run down pedestrians for stress-relief; throwing kids in the mix somehow makes it serious. That's a line I don't want to cross.

It isn't the kids playing it it is just the stereotypical, over sensitive mom type that would flip out if there were kids in harms way in a video game. Especially one that grabs news headlines like no other.

I say no to adding kids just to avoid the firestorm that would surely erupt if kids were involved. Maybe kids in a mission but you'd have to be doing some kind of rescuing or some crap which makes little sense in a GTA game.

I don't understand the huge stigma, shooting an adult in a game ok but a kid is a big deal but it exists and crossing that line just isn't worth it. When the current generation of gamers outnumber the nannies in government that don't know thing one about games then we can revisit where the line is but tempting fate for no gain in game isn't worth it.

I used to play Mature rated games all the time as a kid and watch rated R movies. It's not shitty parents that let their kids view it that is a problem, it's shitty parents who don't talk to their kids and make then understand the difference between fantasy and reality and keep a close eye on their behavior and such that makes it a problem.

Bethesda...can you hear me? Quit putting kids in there that are immune to everythine you did for 300 hours in the game already.

And those kids are a complete immersion breaker. I can wail on this little bastard with a battleaxe for hours and he just keeps wanting to play hide and seek. It's ridiculous, it adds nothing to the game, quit it.

That's not the worst problem to me. When you get into a battle in say Fallout 3 and there's a child in the middle of the crossfire. They don't even take damage, they just run around without a scratch. So maybe I don't target them and try to take em out, but if they are hit by an explosion or fire and just ignore it, that's as you said immersion breaking.

Well, this is why you turn those invulnerable kids to your advantage!

I don't know for Skyrim, but there are mods for Fallout that make kids killable. And I always install them. But, I also have a very large dislike for children.

I worked in a game store when GTA SA came out and the amount of parents that bought that game for their kid was sad/scary. I warned them each time about the language/racial slurs/violence/etc and none cared at all. I'm not talking about teens they were buying it for, I'm talking about like around 10 year old's and shit.

As for my opinion on the matter, sure let them be in the game. I kill everyone equally that way I can not be accused of being biased.

Yeah I was with Gamestop around that time. I can only present the information for them, not make the ultimate decision.

Hell yes!!

Record vid of plowing through a bunch of kids with a schoolbus... post link to vid on mumsnet... trollgasm! :awe:

It's all or nothing, usually. I can understand the inclusion of kids in story missions, but having immune little mofos running around is highly annoying.

Include them or don't. Leave the morality in the hands of the gamer.

This is why I hate media/politicians so much. They want to police the world for everyone and complain about what OTHER people are doing. If someone purchases a game for their kid when it clearly says the game is Violent,Racial Slurs, Sex, etc. and they don't care what can you do?

We shouldn't have to make laws to protect people who refuse to think for themselves.
