Do you think Favre will retire?

Now that he has lost the NFC championship game? I don't think his chances of getting to the superbowl next year are good, but who knows? D:

He'll keep going, esp since he has another year on his contract. Not like it was his fault there were like 10 fumbles and bad play calls by his coach. I mean seriously who throws the ball with 19 seconds left when you have a timeout (esp a cross route when the game is on the line and the other team sees it coming), not to mention 1 yard puts you within Longwells guaranteed range. Hell they could have kicked it from there and been freaking fine. If anything they need to replace Brad Childress.

Favre's body will force him to retire before he actually decides to. He will hurt something enough, then he'll be gone. I don't see him leaving under his own decision after he still has some fire left.

I don't think so, but I would if I were him. It's kinda awesome what he and the Vikings have done this year. I'd like to see them make another run at it next year, but I'd also be doubly disappointed to see them fall short of what they did this year. They didn't get the storybook ending, but he sure silenced a lot of his critics. I'd say it's a good enough season to go out on.

After the way they lost I can see him coming back for another year.

They could have won tonight but turned the ball over a dozen times it seems and gave the game to the Saints.

I disagree. Childress has done a phenomenal job there in Minnesota.

I wouldn't say phenomenal. He's done ok.

Also: YATTNMPoal!

I don't have a problem with Favre, and its up to him or Minnesota or whomever to make that decision. I just wish the media would stop going apeshit over it all.

Well, he had one of the best seasons of his career so I can't see him giving up yet. However, I would rather he just retire, he performed above everybody's expectations and I think it's a good note for him to go out on rather than getting bodyslammed by some tackle and having to be hauled off in a stretcher.

wasn't necessarily a bad play call by childress. at that stage, favre should've ran a few yards and run out of bounds.
he knows better than anyone how good ryan longwell is. i believe he just wanted to boost his own ego and it backfired.

I think this will be the year he retires. He got killed this year, not the best protection. But, he kinda wants it that way so he has more people to throw to. Toughest pro sports athlete ever? He's not hard to argue for. How many consecutive starts? 270 or something? That's ridiculous for an NFL QB, let alone a 40 year old QB.

the vikings shot themselves in the foot.

they had MANY chances to win.
:(

he got beat up pretty badly during the game (for a QB). i doubt he'll be 100% in 8 months. but he'll play

After watching the reactions of his wife every time he got nailed I know she wants him to retire.

Yep, Favre should have run that ball, got the yardage, called a TO, and then had the kicker come finish it.

agreed. i'd like to see him retire as well, (big fan of his) only because i'd like to see him be able to walk to the podium during his HOF induction vs. being carted/wheeled there. He's had a great run, great career and should be happy with that.
