Do you think Data would have gone gay for an episode?

I see Data and our HAL as more similar than many of you here would ever like to admit, so, sure.

Despite the hysterical denials of the fundies, homosexuality is yet another "human" emotion/desire/proclivity in that a not insignificant sub-set of humans experience/possess it.

Since Data is primarily "logical" and presumably not beset by roiling human undercurrents of fear, defensive loathing, and embarrassment, I believe he'd consider a homosexual experience to be on a par with a heterosexual one and indeed, any sexual experience as being essentially no different than any other experience a human might have -- in short, he wouldn't be hung up about trying it at all.

As a supremely logical unit, he'd see no insuperable barrier to putting his unit into any fitting and willing receptacle. :awe:

You say he's logical, then say he would have gay sex. If he was logical, he would understand that sex is meant for procreation, and thus gay sex is illogical.

For him, all sex would be illogical.

Was he in control of his faculties when he had sex with Tasha, or was she the only one acting out?

Except that for humans, the function of sex has evolved beyond the practical. Question is: Can Data understand the emotional and non-logical aspects of sexuality?

Off topic: Did anyone find Alice Krige "hot" as the Borg Queen? (Not that I did.)
